(y/ns POV)

When I sit down at the table Minho and Newt look up at me, surprised.

"Weren't you sitting with Teresa and Thomas?" Minho asks.

"Nice to see you too. And they kicked me out they had to talk about..." I look back at them, trying to decide what to say, "something..."

Newts head shoots up. "What are they talking about?" he asks almost paranoid.

I can't tell him what they're really talking about so I lie. "I don't know but it must've been pretty important, Thomas looked pretty serious."

"Oh..." is all Newt says.

(Newts POV)

Bloody hell, that klunkhead lied to me, he broke our promise. I told that shank not to talk to Teresa. I should've known better, he loves her to death there's no way he could hide anything from her.

"OH MY GOD!" It's Teresa, reacting to something Thomas said.

Mortified, I look down. When I gain the courage to look up again, I see that y/n is doing the same thing.

She lied, she does know what they're talking about.

Shuck, now she at least suspects that I like her.

"So I'm just gonna go," Minho says getting up. As he's leaving he gives me a smirk, and I shoot him a death glare.

Y/n and I sit awkwardly for a few minutes.

"So um..." I start to say.

"Yeah," she replies.

"Frypan makes great French toast," I say taking a bite of my breakfast.

She looks astounded, probably because I'm talking to her. I don't blame her, I can't have said more than 3 words to her at once. I only ever talk to her if I need to while we're working, and when I do I keep it short so I won't embarrass myself, but now I don't have to be as worried about that because I know that she likes me.

"Yeah, french toast is my favorite," she finally answers.

"Mine too. So do you want to maybe hang out at the bonfire later?" I ask nervously.

She looks so startled she doesn't know what to say.

"You don't have to if you don't want to," I say.

"No, I want to. Sure," she replies and place her hand over my hand.

Y/ns hand is so small compared to mine.

She takes her hand away, realizing what she did and looks away, her face blushing bright red. "Sorry, I'll see you at the bonfire." She says leaving.

As I watch her walk away all I can think about is how nervous I am for tonight, and how stunned Tommy will be when I tell him I made the first move.
