Y/n smiled and continued cleaning the kitchen but she wiped her mouth which caught his attention.
Jake returned to the living room to focus on the tree again, but he couldn't help but feel a little upset at seeing her wipe her mouth. he'd just confessed his love to her and she'd just kind of dismissed it and moved on. his mind began spiralling as he thought about how she'd reacted, worrying about what her response meant and whether she actually loved him the way he loved her or not. And her wiping his kiss only made him feel worse.
"god damn it... How. How did I get glitter in my mouth just from kissing your hand." Y/n jokingly complained,
his head perked up at her comment, and a look of surprise crossed his face. a moment later he let out a small chuckle as he realized how silly he was being. of course, it hadn't been anything more than getting glitter in her mouth. She had told him that she loved him too, hadn't she? it was in his own head he was having doubts and anxieties, it wasn't a problem on her end, "You get glitter everywhere anyway, I'd be more surprised if you didn't have it in your mouth..."
"I suppose you're right." Y/n laughed as she finished cleaning up and began to set the table with covers and kitchen roll, icing and tools so they could decorate the cookies once they cooled, "humm hello handsome fox." Y/n smiled walking past him with a big bowl of buttercream making sure not to go too close as to invade his space without asking. But she leant over and kissed his shoulder,
he smiled at her comment and the kiss, he looked over his shoulder to watch her for a few moments, taking in the sight of her. "Hi, beautiful..." he said softly, his voice held so much love in its tone, for her... he really loved her so much...
Y/n smiled setting up the table for them, "Would you like a glass of wine?" She asked making sure to be very delicate with the subject
he hummed as he thought as he hung another decoration. he looked over at her as she asked. wine, something he hadn't had in a while. part of him still told him to say no, that he wouldn't be able to handle it... but the stronger part of him that loved and trusted her told him that he would be fine, as long as he didn't have too much. so he answered her truthfully "Y-Yes, please..."
"may I have a glass of wine?" She asked gently,
he nodded as he looked at her, his gaze never leaving her as he answered. "Of course, yes, you may... Just, don't overindulge..." he then added a little jokingly
"one glass each. No more. No less." She reassured as she poured them each a glass putting the bottle away as to not cause any fears or worries
he watched her pour and put the bottle away. he felt some nervousness and fear bubble in his gut, but he pushed it down. he trusted her. he knew she wouldn't give him more than what he could handle. he let out a small hum "O-Okay... One glass each..."
once the cookies were all finished and cooled she set them on the table with their glasses and pulled out the chair for him. Making the space open and welcoming so he could sit with her if he wanted too.
Jake was just about finished with adding the last few decorations he had and he smiled softly at the sight of the laid out cookies and the glasses on the table. it all looked so nice and cozy, he loved it. he hummed and he glanced from the scene over to her, noticing she was holding out a chair for him, she was giving him space to sit with her at the table if he wanted to, and of course, he did. his heart fluttered as he smiled and he made his way over to her and sat down at the table
"Hello little fox." She cooed "I'll let you pick the first cookie."
he hummed happily his chest fluttering a bit, he loved it when she called him names. he glanced at all the cookies laid out on the table, looking at the different shapes, colours and sizes. he was like a kid in a candy store, or in this case, cookie store "So... I-I can pick whichever one I want...?"
