"Hello? Yes... Ah. I see." Y/n's tone changed and her voice lowered take the phone a little further away not out of his site but just a little further away. "No no uhh... Umm... I'm being civil I'm not saying a word... Yeah... Why do you want to know... Yeah well, nows not a good time."

Jake's curiosity was piqued. she'd shifted away and lowered her voice, as if she was trying not to let him hear the other side of the conversation. who was it that was calling that required so much secrecy to talk to her? why didn't this person know that now wasn't a good time? why did they want, or need, to know? he couldn't help but worry a little bit.

the voice on the other end began getting louder so much so that he could hear muffled words coming from the phone,

"Look, this really - yes I'm aware - you do but I'm simply -" Y/n tried to explain but this person wouldn't even let her speak,

And it wasn't long before Jake recognized that tone on the other line... That sharp snap that never left you finish your words... The tone of complete entitlement... Elsa. The moment that he heard Elsa's voice, his heart started to pound in his chest, and his eyes widened slightly. what on earth was she calling for? she had to know he was here, so why would she... he subconsciously gripped the wooden table a little tighter, his anxiety starting to spike, as he anxiously listened to the conversation

"yes... I know that,"

"So then let me talk to him!"

"I don't have to do that."

"I am entitled to conversions over our paperwork!"

"Your entitled to civil discussions yes,"

"Then let me talk to him!"

"He's not available."

"Then where is he! Why isn't he there!"

"I never said he wasn't here."

"I know he's there!"

"I'm not under any obligation to tell you if he is or isn't. He's simply not available to you right now."

"Let me talk to my husband! Now!"

"You can lower your tone. Or you can end this call. This is my house and I do not have to tell you anything Elsa."

his heart was absolutely racing. Elsa's tone was making his blood run cold. it was so cold and sharp, almost vicious, the way she was talking to y/n. she was acting like she owned him, she was demanding to talk to him like a child asking for their toy back. he couldn't help but feel scared. the way Elsa was talking, the way she was demanding to talk to him... it frightened him. he held the table tighter still, his breathing getting shallow

"I have every legal right to know his location!"

"And I have no legal obligation to give you it."

"Let me talk to him it's important!"

"You have something important to discuss with your ex-husband at 9.45pm two days before Christmas?"

"Yes!"

"No you don't. Any legal questions can wait till the new year where they can be sat in with a lawyer."

"Your a lawyer, just have it on speaker if your so terrified,"

"It is again, 9.45pm two days before Christmas and this is my personal house number. I do not have to do anything. This is my personal time."

"Let me speak to Jake or I'm coming down there and not leaving until I speak with him!"

his fear and anxiety were sky-high now. he listened intently, listening to Elsa's angry yelling and y/n's firm and steady voice. he wanted so badly just to scream and cry and hide. he was starting to shiver and shake, the feeling of helplessness was setting in, and he didn't know what to do or say or think and then Elsa's last sentence sent the fear rushing through him all over again. she was coming here? she was coming to find him!
