Tsunderes were a challenge. You loved challenges. Midorima was the biggest tsundere of them all. You had your work set out for you already. So you set to cracking his shell immediately. First, you decided, you needed him to acknowledge you. You did everything in your power to be subtle about it, because you didn't want to draw too much attention to yourself.
You would bat your eyelashes at him, talk to his friends and the people sitting next to him a lot. You'd put up your hand often in class. Doodle on your textbook about horoscopes and lucky items, and even said loudly when you knew he was within earshot how attractive you found the colour deep, forest green, especially as a hair colour.
"If I had a boyfriend," you said to your friend but looking directly at Midorima who was holding a ceramic elephant, his day's lucky item, "He would sooo need glasses."
But nothing worked and Midorima seemed to remain oblivious to your affections. So you decided to step it up a notch.
You orchestrated an elaborate plan to make him officially meet and hopefully notice you. You had a friend who shared most of his classes to observe which routes he took and then, when you knew it well enough; on the second Tuesday of that first month, you crashed into him at a corner and he ended up on top of you.
Blushing furiously and scrambling to get away from the compromising position, he coughed slightly and said, "If you would excuse me." He tried to get away but you called him when he turned his back to you.
"You knock into a lady and you don't even tell her your name?" You say, smirking slightly to yourself.
He hesitantly turned around to face you and adjusted his glasses before answering you, "Midorima Shintaro, obviously of course. And you?"
"L/N Y/N." You say.Midorima picks up your books neatly and hands them to you, precariously balancing his oyster shell, his lucky item, on his head.
"Thank y-" you began.
"What's your star sign?" He cut you off.
"(Your star sign)." You replied."Tch, Oho Asa said that (your star sign) and Leos are compatible and should spend time together for optimum luck." Midorima said and adjusted his glasses once more, "So let's meet after school."
"Where?" You asked.
"At the coffeehouse, obviously of course." Midorima said. You smiled brightly, things were going so well that you wanted to giggle and skip to the coffeehouse.
But you managed to keep a cool and casual pace as you strolled to the coffeehouse, ready to simply grab any available table at the main dining area. A waiter greeted you on arrival and asked for your name, to put on orders and tables and et cetera.
"Y/N." You said.
The waiter furrowed their eyebrows, "Do you happen to be L/N Y/N?"
"Uh...yes." You said cautiously, "Why?"
"You've already been booked a couple hours ago for a reservation in our private dining area." The waiter said, "Your boyfriend must really like you.""Oh, he's not my-" you said, blushing to yourself before they cut you off, pulling you by the arm to drag you around the coffeehouse.
"Now this coffee house was built by Fujito Saiki in 1948 with nothing but his bare hands and some healthy deforestation around this area. He built the exquisite reservation dining room first, meant for only the highest class people. But then, you know, commoners came along! God I hate filthy commoners with their instant coffee and their suburban lifestyles! But err, anyway, what do you like to do in your spare time? Personally, I like setting houses on fire and watching people cry as they lose their loved ones and their heirlooms...."
You didn't listen to their absurdly politically incorrect babbling as you spotted Midorima, sitting at a posh, elegant table set with china plates and silver crockery with a beautiful view of an overgrown garden with wisteria covering statues carved from stone.
