The thing you were most excited to see when you were enrolled in Teiko, was the ace of the basketball team, Aomine Daiki, play incredible matches. You had been looking forward to this for a long time. You had picked the best seats in the stadium for you and your friend whom you had dragged along. You were on the edge of your seat, checking your watch twice every minute, waiting for the teams to come on.

Finally, the stadium was moderately filled (but not exactly packed) and the teams went on. You clapped as you saw Teiko's team and cheered when you saw the tanned, muscular man with the dark blue hair. For some reason, they all looked very solemn, as though they were jaded adults, not talented teenagers.

The game began and within thirty seconds it became clear who was going to win. By the end of the first quarter, people stopped applauding. Teiko had achieved forty points before the other team, who was so insignificant you had forgotten its name, scored one point.

But the worst part of all, was seeing the bored expressions on the generation of miracles' faces. They weren't even trying, weren't even acknowledging their opponent. It was as though they were beyond putting in effort in a game and showing respect. It was this arrogance that did the trick of disgusting you.

You stormed out of the stadium at halftime, leaving your bewildered friend behind. Anger driving you further and further away from the stadium as you furiously went over the game in your head. Over and over until you were flushing from all the rage you had. You were going to confront Aomine about this. He owed it to his opponents to show respect. How dare he not?

So you decided to wait until after school, when he would least be expecting it, and then you would strike.

You expected to find him outside of the classrooms, but then you remembered the rumours that he was lazy, frequently skipped class and most importantly for your current situation, often slept on the rooftops, his face under the shade of a gravure magazine.

So that was where you found him. Fast asleep, arms bent in a diamond shape behind his head. He was even handsomer and stronger up close. Not wasting another moment watching him in a peaceful slumber, you decided to wake him up. So you unceremoniously gripped his shoulders and shook him roughly. When he didn't stir, you decided to up the anti.

"AOMINE DAIKI!" You exclaimed loudly.
"What do you want now, Satsuki?" Was his bored reply. He didn't even open his eyes to check who it was.
"Not Satsuki." You said.
He opened a single eye cautiously and when he saw you, he opened both eyes, "Do I know you?"
"I'm L/N Y/N." You said, "And you have got some serious explaining to do."

Aomine sat up, "Goddamnit, I meet a beautiful girl and she's already angry at me."
You blushed slightly at being called beautiful but you pressed on regardlessly, "How dare you?!"
Aomine looked genuinely confused, "W-what? What did I do?"

"You know what you did!" You said.
"No. I don't." Aomine said, "Care to enlighten me?"
"The match yesterday," you said, "I have been looking forward for years to see the so called 'ace of Teiko' play basketball. I expected to see something amazing but instead I saw a group of people who decided that they weren't even going to respect the other opponent enough to give it their all. You were so bored and disinterested during it. I thought basketball was meant to fun and you're so good at it!"

Aomine cocked his head slightly, "I'm sorry...I guess. I just haven't had any motivation to play my heart out anymore. My strength means nothing if it is unmatched. The only one who can beat me is me."
His heart immediately sank as he saw the crushed, defeated look on your face. The spirit and excitement in your eyes has been extinguished. "I see." You said sadly and turned around to go.

Aomine couldn't bear this, he reached out and grabbed your hand. He couldn't let this amazing girl slip past his fingertips. He needed to see that fire in your eyes again.

"Hey," he said, "How about this? If you come with me to a date, at the next match, I will put my heart and soul into it."
Your eyes widened as you contemplated the offer, you slowly turned around and looked into his eyes to see if he was lying but he didn't seem to be so you agreed, "Here's my number: &$&&@&&$$%#^{{€££¥¥><~\=."
He grinned devilishly and leaned in to whisper in your ear, "Motivate me, Y/N."

A few days later, when he made the call to redeem his promised date, you were still a flustered mess. But you managed to rationally listen to the details of the time and whereabouts.

You didn't do much on your so called "date", and nothing romantic until the very end. But you were fine with eating burgers and sipping milkshakes and despite his efforts to try and stay cool, Aomine smiled whenever he made eye contact with you, whether he liked it or not. Then, at the very end of the date, just as you were leaving; he gave you a brief, parting peck on the lips.

At school, things sped up faster than you had expected. Every day, he would wait outside of your classes and pull you up onto the rooftop to spend the lunch with you. Often just sleeping or reading, but it didn't matter to him, he found your very presence comforting.

He stuck to his word, too and every match after your date, you saw his change of attitude immediately. But better yet, he was happy and having fun. You knew you had made the right choice going out with him. You had never had this much fun with someone before and neither of you intended to stop having fun.

But as with many relationships that went too fast, one of you went too far. Aomine, to be exact. You had been dating for a month and he suddenly insisted you should skip classes like him to spend time with him.

"I can't do that." You said.
"Why not? Don't you like me?" Aomine asked. You were leaning against the wall, arms folded across your chest and Aomine was hovering over you, his arm pressed above your head on the wall to steady himself as he was just a few inches from you.
"It's not that," you explained, reassuringly, "I'm not you, Aomine. I'm not a prodigy so the school administration won't turn a blind eye to me skipping classes."

"Well, I guess your choice is made then." Aomine said, and he turned away from you, his loving turn turning cold.
"What choice?" You asked.
"That classes are more important to you than spending time with me." Aomine said and you sighed.

After further guilttripping you, you finally conceded and got your friend to say your name for you in classes you were certain the teacher wouldn't notice you'd be away from. The guilty pleasure you felt, up there on the rooftop with Aomine, exchanging sweet kisses and lustful words, made your heart beat incredibly fast.

So you started skipping over classes too, even the lessons taught by shrewd teachers that paid attention to detail. You and your friend had got into a fight, she said that she didn't want to get in trouble when you were caught so it was either Aomine or your friendship. It was an easy choice to make and Aomine was pleased with your decision.

However, you were astonished at how you hadn't been reprimanded by the principal yet. You skipped the majority of classes now. You voiced your surprise to Aomine and he simply replied, "Oh, I made sure they wouldn't bother you."
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"I mean I beat him up so he wouldn't suspend you." Aomine said monotonously.
"You're joking right?" You laughed awkwardly.

Aomine pulled out his phone and after typing and swiping adequately, he showed you a photo. It was the principal with black eyes, hugging his knees in a foetal position, he grinned, "He cried like a little baby. But it did the trick." He said.
"What are you?" You exclaimed, "A psycho?!" You turned on your heels and ran as far away from him as you could.

The school was secluded as everyone had left and now you were desperate to find a hiding place. You chose the science building and ran to the highest level's chest of drawers and huddled into the cramped bottom draw. You didn't even have time to catch your breath when you heard menacing footsteps and the weight of everything crashed down on you.

You whimpered softly, hoping you wouldn't alert Aomine to where you were. You wiped your tears on the back of your hand. But apparently, you were too loud.

Aomine pulled the draws open and with a maniacal grin, picked you up and held you above his head as though you were a puppy and then kissed you on the lips, you still being suspended midair, before he said in a sickly sweet tone that did not correlate well with his husky voice; with every pause, he pinched your waist so you yelped in pain.

"I....found....you...."
