The sun is high above in the sky as a car pulls up outside and the gates open as it drives up the pathway to the front doors of the large home, a girl in school uniform with blonde hair and bright yellow eyes steps out as she approaches the doors, upon opening them, she's suddenly bumped into

Narration: "When I was younger...being a hero was all I ever wanted. To be strong and a role model to others, like my big sister. I wanted people to like me and care about me for just doing something I liked...helping others."

Ryuko: her eyes widen and she gasps softly "Ah..." looks down, seeing her 7 year old little brother, Draken hugging her legs as he smiles up at her with his fierce crimson draconic eyes and misshapen mouth "Draken..." she smiles and reaches down, petting his hair

Draken: he giggles slightly, closing his eyes and leaning into her touch "What took so long?" He feigns a pout "You promised you'd tell me about your hero training..."

Ryuko: she chuckles softly and takes his hand "I'll tell you all about it at dinner, okay?" She walks with him while smiling "How was school?" She looks down curiously with slight worry

Draken: looks away, his lips quivering a bit "Not so good...they all called me a tattletale for telling mom and dad about what they said about how I look..." sniffles, stopping as Ryukyu let his hand go, his gaze on the floor as he grips his shirt

Ryuko: her looks harden out of protectiveness, but when she sees a tear falling to the floor, she crouches down and puts a hand on his shoulder "Hey...don't cry..." she lifts his chin to make him face her "Who cares about what they say? They made fun of you and it was fair, they're the bad ones." She smiles and wipes his tears away, before tickling her neck "Besides, I like how you look."

Draken: laughs a bit and cheers up "Thanks, sister..." he hugs her and smiles appreciatively, his eyes closed as he rubs his cheek against her clothes slightly

Ryuko: smiles softly, a look of fondness on her face "Anytime..." stands up and takes his hand again "Come, let's get ready for supper. Then I'll tell you all about my day, okay?"

Draken: smiles widely "Okay!" The two of them walk down the hall together

Narration: "Little did I know...that night would be the night I realised, not everyone can live out their dreams. Even if they have a quirk, the world was cruel and looks meant everything in this society, in all aspects."

Later that night
Dining room
Still third POV

Ryuko, Draken and their parents are sat at the table eating, there's silence among their parents while Draken listens intently to Ryukyu as she talks about her hero training at school

Ryuko: she smiles proudly "And my teacher told me, with my quirk, I'd definitely be a very successful hero."

Draken: with a look of awe and admiration "Really? Wow, you're so lucky! If my teacher told me that, I'd feel like a hero already." Chuckles

Ryuko: she nods, an affectionate gaze on her face "I do. And when I'm a real hero in a few years, you better watch me on the news and cheer me on, or else I won't be able to do good in the field." Tilts her head with a beaming smile

Draken: nods determinedly "You bet! Then I can tell all the kids at school that my big sister is a real hero!" His eyes gain a slight shine to them "And when I'm big enough, I can be a hero too!" Silence fell at the table, their parents giving Ryuko a look, he looked at her, his face dropping "What's wrong?"
