3rd Pov
Ida's home
A week after the exam

After the exam, Draken had been keeping his training going with Ida, after all, he wanted any excuse to be away from his parents and the pestering calls from Ryuko, he is seen standing in place as scales form up his arms, he clenches his fists

Draken: he looked to Ida who was sprinting in fast laps at surprising speed "How do you use your quirk to its fullest, Ida? Like knowing so much about it."

Ida: he slides to a stop and sips from his bottle "By looking to my family. The Ida family lineage has always been extensive and informative." Draken sighs heavily and Ida's eyes widen in realisation "Right...you and your family aren't very talkative."

Draken: nods "Yeah. Plus, I don't have my families quirk. All I ever heard is that the Tatsuma lineage is filled with dragon quirk users and some other ancestral nonsense." He retracts his scales "I'm the first dud of the family."

Ida: his expression softens "No quirk is a dud, Draken. Yours is just different. While it's not flashy, or extremely powerful, it has its own strengths." He watches Draken practice with his quirk 'Then again...it's likely been drilled into his head that his quirk is weak, after all, what he told me points to it...'

Flashback—during Draken's training for the exam

Ida: he stood by Draken while he was sat on the floor in exhaustion, his expression concerned and curious "Draken..." he utters to catch his friends attention "I don't mean to pry, but why has your family never encouraged you to train your quirk, or provide the necessary means to."

Draken: he looks down at the ground and pauses for a moment, before speaking up softly "Well, let's just say they never thought I'd have to go through the trouble...my sister was already a hero, and my quirk isn't the strongest, it's pretty mundane, a dud."

Ida: his eyes widen in shock as he gasps softly, he looks like he wants to deny those words, but sensing the palpable hurt and sadness in the air, he remains silent and follows Draken's gaze toward the setting sun "I see...then we best continue training."

Back to the current time
Draken Pov
Ida's training area

I noticed the silence and turned to face where Ida stood, noticing his intense gaze, I become self-conscious and look down, hoping he wasn't staring at my weird mutations, before speaking up softly

Draken: looking at him through my veil of hair "Is something wrong? I'd ask is there was something on my face, but there's not much of one." I rub the back of my head

Ida: he shakes his head "No...it's not that. I suppose I was just thinking about something." He turns to continue training, but stops "Draken, just so you know, wether you get in or not, you should never lose hope on something you want to do."

Draken: I stand in slight confusion at his inquisition, before answering confusedly "Yeah...sure." I watch him continue his running using his quirk, choosing to ignore his words and not think about them too much, I return to my training

Later That Night
Draken's House
Still Draken Pov

I was at home in my room, going over different information about scales, trying to find something I can use to better improve my quirk somehow, before I had to go down for dinner, but when leaving my room, I was met by my parents standing there

Draken: I avert my gaze to the ground and speak "Is something wrong?"

Mother: she looked completely enraged as she lifted an envelope "Open it. Now." Draken's eyes widened behind his hair as he took it and closed his door
