I know I have remade this story. But this time... THIS TIME... It's the real deal... otherwise I'm never writing stories ever again.
Anyways...in this story the upper ranks are Hashira's and the lower moons are demon slayers.

Ever hear that phrase "A smile can make life more beautiful and brighten someone's day"? Well no one can fit that phrase better than the Fairy Hashira, Harki Sakurai the most brightest and innocent of all the Hashira. But even a smile from an innocent Hashira has a cost and unfortunately for poor Haruki, he learned that the hard way.
At a young age Haruki lost his parents due to a sickness and because of that he travels on the street alone struggling to survive.
Haruki: (Mama... papa...)
He was on the verge of death a couple came across him.

Says the man.
??: Let's take him back with us honey.
Said the woman.
??: Right.
So the couple brought Haruki home with them.
Minutes later Haruki woke up and he immediately finds himself in a house.
Haruki: (Where am I?)
??: Ah I see you're awake.
Hearing the man's voice Haruki became very alerted.
??: Don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you. You were unconscious in an alleyway so my wife and I decided to bring you here to heal. What's your name? My name is Yasashi Sakurai and my wife's name is Kawai.
Haruki: Haruki.
Yasashi: Well Haruki, where are your parents? Do you have a way to contact them?
Hearing that Haruki became sad and shook his head no.
Haruki: They're gone. They died from a sickness and I have nowhere to go.
Yasashi pity him but then came up with an idea.
Yasashi: Then why not live with us?
Hearing that surprised Haruki.
Haruki: R-really?
Yasashi nodded.
Yasashi: Of course, you're a lost kid and you're too young to wonder the streets alone. So we'll take care of you.
And life was great for Haruki, he had new caring parents and he does his best to repay them by supporting them as best as they could, but like many others nothing last forever.
One night a demon came in their home. Yasashi and Kawai tried to tell Haruki to escape, but he refused to abandon them, but in the process his parents were killed leaving Haruki next.
??: So you're the last one huh? Oh well. Die!
But before he could attack his head was smashed scaring Haruki.
