Jacob had messaged Mitch, telling him to meet with him at his and Hannah's house, wanting to talk. He told Mitch he had some extremely important things to tell him about Jade; things that he needed to know. There were things that Mitch said he couldn't keep secret from him any longer and needed to right what had been wrong.

As Mitch knocked at Jacob and Hannah's house, he was reminded of what Jacob and Jade both did to him. It him to his bones like a cold winter night. He didn't want to talk or even to look at Jacob. He absolutely abhorred him. But he did want to know what was so important for him to learn about. And with Jacob being a lying, deceiving, manipulator that got Mitch's wife pregnant, he wondered if he could even trust Jacob.

"Come on in", Jacob said as he answered the door to Mitch. He felt a piercing, hateful, look beaming from Mitch's eyes, staring him down as he entered the house. "Hannah's out for the evening.  I thought this would be a great time to talk."

"When you messaged me, I thought it was really odd", Mitch said as he walked in, his thumbs in his pickets and his chest puffed up. "Whatever you have to tell me better be important. "

"Sit down", Jacob offered.

"Just tell me what I need to know so I can get out of here", Mitch demanded as he kept heat his head held high and his chest puffed up in an intimidating fashion.

Jacob sighed and rested his hands in his pockets. "I know that you know that Jade was pregnant. And if you didn't know that you should.", Jacob hesitated to finish. "And you should also know that the baby was-"

"Yours"- Mitch interrupted, clenching his jaw and squinting his eyes in pure anger. "I do know that. And you are a disgraceful excuse for a human being for doing what you did."

"I know I am", Jacob apologetically agreed. "And I know what I did was wrong. But there's something else you need to know." Jacob looked around the room uncomfortably, not sure how to answer. And Mitch's squinting, piercing, eyes did not make the environment any better.

"The baby was actually yours", Jacob admitted.

Mitch flinched, then stared sharply at Jacob. "What?", he asked in shock and disbelief.

"The baby didn't belong to me. It belonged to you", Jacob repeated.

Mitch chuckled in disbelief.  "That's insane. Jade said it was yours."

"She was wrong", Jacob quickly answered. "When she told me about it, I had them to check and see if the baby was mine. It just came back a couple days ago, and the baby wasn't mine."

"You're lying", Mitch said in a nervous but very angry tone.

"No, I'm not. You can even call Jade's old doctor and ask. "

"How do you know that the baby was mine? Maybe it belonged to some other man."

"Because Jade snuck around and took a swab of your cheek when you were asleep to get you tested to see if you were the father."

"That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. She didn't...", Mitch said shaking at his head while pulling at his hair with his hand.

"Like I said, if you don't believe me, you can call the doctor", Jacob insisted.

"Why did she tell me you were the father?", Mitch asked, blazing with anger.

"Because for some reason she was certain I was. I guess it doesn't matter since she is dead now anyway. But I thought you might want to know. I thought it might make you feel better."

Mitch scoffed. "Make me feel better?! How is that supposed to make me feel better?!"

"Well, because it didn't belong to me. It means that Jade was loyal to you at the end, and if Jade have lived, you guys would've been a family. You would've had Jade and she would've had your baby. I thought that maybe you would like to learn that."

Mitch felt pure panic. His heart was beating fast and the room started spinning as he broke out in a sweat. "That means she died for nothing!"

"She died for some reason...Maybe it was because she had been unfaithful for so long. Unfaithful people like her deserve to die, don't they?", Jacob asked rhetorically.

"Yes, they do! Of course they do!", Mitch practically screamed.

Jacob smirked and looked at Mitch mysteriously. "For your wife to cheat on you and have a baby by another man, that just drives you mad, doesn't it?"

"Of course it does!", Mitch yelled, his eyes widening as he gave Jacob a threatening look.

"But she didn't even have a baby by another man, so it's okay right?", Jacob asked nervously.

"No, it's not alright! That's why I killed her! It was because she was having a baby that wasn't mine!"

Time stood dead still as the truth was finally revealed. The heat of anger created a blazing tension in the room. You could suddenly have heard a pen drop as Mitch and Jacob both froze. Jade Thompson's soon to have been ex-husband, who seemed to be such an innocent, nice, man, just admitted that he was the cold blooded, ruthless, killer.

Jacob felt his heart sink to his stomach. He was in the same room as a free ranged murderer. "You killed Jade?", he asked in a bit of a scared tone.

"Of course I killed her. She deserved it for all that she did to me! And I will kill you too. You're the reason she is dead. If you hadn't had an affair with her, she would have known that the baby was mine. This would've never had happened!"

Mitch pulled the gun out from his side and pointed it at Jacob, smiling and feeling a sense of justice to himself as he was about to get full vengeance. "You're going to die just like Jade. Don't worry about me, I'm good at covering my tracks."
