five

It had been over a week since Eva and Taylor had last spoken, and both girls were going through the same dilemma; they didn't want to seem desperate, so they didn't text first. Eva was busy with work anyway, filming her new movie Tudor, a period piece about the life of Queen Mary Tudor. So if she had texted or called Taylor, or Taylor had texted or called her, she would've been too busy to give her undivided attention.

"We need you out here in five Eva!" The show's director, Will, knocked on the door of Eva's trailer and called.

"I'm out in a second!" She yelled back. After finally putting the last of her costume on, Eva stepped out and hurried over to set, where she was supposed to be.

As soon as everything was all set up, Will had the clapper in his hands. "Tudor, episode 3, season 1, Mary and Cecily, scene 18, and... action." He spoke before clapping the clapper.

"But Cecily, you do not understand... may I speak freely?" Eva begins. Her co-star, Annabeth, responds, "As you wish your majesty."

"If Mother and Father split, not only will it ruin our royal dynamic, but it might change my chances of being heir to the throne. What if Father and Anne have a child, and it is a male? I'll never be queen."

"But, my princess, is being queen all that matters to you? Just your royal title? What about the happiness and well-being of your people? The citizens of England who have been waiting and fighting for you?" The redhead replied.

"Yes of course I want my title! What's the good of being born into this family if I die before I get the chance to do what I was made to do?!" Eva snapped. "My apologies Your Majesty, I did not mean to anger you..."

Later, the scenes they needed were finally done, and Eva headed back to her trailer. After removing her costume, she sat on her chair and picked up her phone to see a missed call and a voicemail from Taylor. She waited a bit to collect her thoughts before calling Taylor back, and the blonde picked up almost immediately.

"What do you call the ring around an angel's head?!" Taylor began excitedly, winning a Spanish phrase out of Eva, "Por que?"

"Halo!" Taylor laughed. "That was horrendous." Eva began, "I love it. Halo to you too."

"So... what's up?" Taylor asked the brunette girl over the phone. "Mmm, nothing much, just finishing up on set." Eva hummed and shrugged slightly. "Why are you calling?"

"Does a girl need a reason to call her friend?" Taylor questioned playfully. "Oh wow, we're friends now?" Eva joked.

"Mhm, we're like that now. Not like that, but like that. y'know?" Taylor replied. "Uh, sure I do. Now, why are you really calling? Something's up I can tell." Eva repeated, this time more sincerely. Taylor sighed, "Okay you got me."

"So? Spill. If you want."

"Um, can you come over? Please?" Taylor said. "Sure thing, I'm on my way, okay? I'll see you, bye." Eva told the blonde before hanging up.

Eva showed up about 15 minutes later with a box of donuts and a glass of wine. Eva rang the doorbell, and after a couple of moments of no answer, she tried to open the door, and surprisingly, it was open.

"Hello?! It's Eva... I come bearing gifts!" Eva yelled out. "Your door was open, I'm gonna lock it for you!" Eva placed the box of donuts and a bottle of wine on the small table nearby before locking the door.

As she ventured further into the house with her two gifts, she heard soft sobs coming from a room with closed doors, "Tay? You in here? I'm coming in." Eva warned before slowly opening the door to reveal a disheveled-looking Taylor. She sat at her piano bench, with a gray, black, and white cat in her lap. "Hi." She mumbled.
