Sirius practically dragged me to class, which thankfully we weren't late for. He wouldn't leave my side, whenever I would make a slight movement he'd move closer and whenever I'd walk to a different spot he was right there beside me.

It was actually nice having him there, so close, it felt comforting.

We got through classes without Sirius getting into trouble, but we were now sat in the great hall having some lunch when things took a slight turn.

Sirius was rambling on about how he's going to ace everything the school throws at him as long as he had me, which I admit made me melt inside when the one person I had hoped would mysteriously disappear just happened to walk over to us.

"You're like the world's best good luck charm, Moony. Without you today I would have had at least a month's worth of detentions." Sirius said, smiling like a child at Christmas, which in turn made me smile.

"Well, I'm glad I could do that for-"

"Remus you're in a better mood. What happened yesterday, you were so agitated?" Severus' voice interrupted.

I looked over at Sirius and could almost feel his disgust. Oh, Merlin. Please don't do anything stupid, Sirius.

"What do you want, slimeball?" Sirius growled, rolling his eyes as he turned to face Severus.

"Sirius, charming as ever. I'm not talking to you, so why don't you leave me and Remus to talk, huh? Be a good boy." Severus joked, laughing at himself like it was the most hilarious thing to ever be spoken.

Sirius slammed his hands down and rose to his feet, stepping away from the table and straight into Severus' soul, if he had one.

I quickly rose to my feet, standing right behind Sirius. "Sirius, please just walk away. He's not worth it, you and I both know that." I whispered, trying to calm him by running my hand up his back.

Sirius calmed down at my touch. "There's a good boy. Now do a trick." Severus pushed, and I knew it wouldn't end well, so I took a step in front of Sirius, hoping that if I put myself in between them, I could somehow end it.

"What do you think you'll accomplish here, Severus?" I questioned confused as to why he would start something with Sirius, knowing full well he wouldn't come out of it in a good shape.

"I was trying to have a conversation with you, that's all. It's not my fault you haven't trained your dog properly." he smirked, and I could feel Sirius trying to push past me, but I wouldn't let him. There is no way I'm going to let someone like Snape get Sirius in trouble again. Not today.

"Don't call me a dog, you slimy snake." Sirius growled, and I pushed myself back into him as hard as I could.

"Oh, what a comeback. I'm hurt, really." Severus joked, holding his hand to his chest.

"You will be if you don't shut up and leave me alone, Snivellus." Sirius snarled.

"Just try and hurt me, you mutt. See what'll happen if you lay even a finger on me." he taunted, which just annoyed me to the point I was about to let Sirius punch him.

"Severus you know as well as I do that if I let Sirius go he will beat you, and honestly you've been such a pain for me recently that I wouldn't stop him. How would that look to all your Slytherin buddies, huh? If you get beaten up by a Gryffindor, what would that do to your reputation?" I asked, and I could hear the faint whispers from the students surrounding us in the hall.

"You really think that your stupid little dog boyfriend could actually hurt me? He's pathetic. So pathetic, his own parents don't want him, I mean a family of Slytherin's with a Gryffindor son? He's an embarrassment, to everyone, he couldn't hurt me if he tried." he taunted once more.
