It was monday, Dunk has class. He now learned that he can't trust his friends. He acted as if he did not hear their conversation.
All they know is that he's trying to move on from Joong. Which is true. He's been hurt enough to understand he can't have Joong. He knew he was too good to be true and he was too greedy to even think there could have something special between them.
He woke up early, prepared himself a breakfast. Go to school and attented class like it's just a normal day.
Phuwin was in his art class. They didn't talk much but he wasn't avoiding him either.
"Have you finished your artwork yet?"
"Huh?" Dunk tried to recall what artwork Phuwin was talking about and he remember he wanted to go to a beach somewhere to do his painting, he's supposed to ask them to join him but doesn't felt like it now.
"Oh, yeah. The artwork. I will do it when I get time."
"It's due next week. Don't forget. Do you want me to help you with it?"
"It's fine."
"I've finished mine. I'm free this weekend."
"I said I'm fine." Dunk saw the shock in Phuwin's face when his voice took on a slight edge. "I have majorette practice. I have to go."
He felt like walking around in a hollow body, his mind is elsewhere, he felt nothing. He didn't even notice the odd stares, students are sending him. He wasn't hurting anymore, which is weird cause just two days ago he couldn't stop crying even with how much he tried to stop. Maybe no tears left to cry now, he guesses.
Is it a good thing? It could be.
He attended his majorette practice with Dew. They didn't talk about the incident happened on that night. Dew tried to bring it up but Dunk quickly dismissed it.
"Dunk let's go get streetfood! Come on." Dew had been trying to ease Dunk with everything he could. He's not laughing at his jokes. He doesn't pay attention to him. He's not being talkative and not being himself at all. He's getting worried.
His shift in demeanor was hard to miss.
"My treat!"
"Not now Dew. I'm having stomach problem this morning."
Dew would've pulled a pregnancy joke on him but he held back thinking his friend is still not comfortable talking about Joong.
"Should I drive you to the clinic then?"
"I just want to rest. I'm tired."
"How about your stomach problems, that could be ulcer or worse."
"It's not hurting now."
"Now, yes. What if it gets worse tomorrow? We should go now and get you checked."
"It's nothing serious Dew."
It's obvious that Dew just wanted to spend time with him and cheer him up but he's too hard to crack.
"Should I drive you home then huh? Let's watch movies at your place, or play video games or whatever--"
Dew stopped talking when Dunk, sharply inhaled giving him the hint to fuck off and leave him alone.
Dunk left him blinking to himself.
Dew felt bad for his friend but maybe he should give him some space. He pursed his lips thinking Joong was such an asshole for hurting his friend.
Dunk's feet led him to the lockers. He didn't even have anything to get from there but his feet somehow made their way there. He instantly figured why because he instinctively stopped right infront of Joong's locker.
