Life As We Know It: Chapter 2

Yuuka: (It's the next day and somehow I'm still tired from all the walking I did yesterday.. Maybe I should do some more cardio.)

Yuuka, standing in the mirror looks to the side at the open bedroom door.

Yuuka: She's gone again huh?  I guess she does work a lot..

Mrs. Oto: You ready to head out Yuuka dear?

Yuuka: Yeah, I'll head out in a second, just gotta make sure my tie is done correctly..!

Mrs. Oto: Ah that reminds me Yuuka, your sister left you a gift before she went out! You should come pick it up!

Yuuka: A gift?

After fixing his tie and checking his gift, Yuuka heads out and while walking down the sidewalk he stops to see a child on the bench eating ice cream.

Yuuka: She's there today again.. I wonder where she gets the money to eat ice cream every day. And doesn't she have school as well?

He looks to his right to see Maya sneaking up to him with her poor stealth skills, and he scratches his head in confusion.

Maya: Gah what gave me away!?

Yuuka: I just happened to look toward your direction at the right time, maybe next time Maya..

Maya: Anyway who were you talking about just now?

Yuuka: Oh it's... Hm?

When he looks to point Maya to the child, he sees that the child is no longer there, and all that's left there is two people walking by the bench, talking.

Maya: That girl? She's an adult and looks like she's in a relationship, of course she wouldn't have school Yuuka..

Yuuka: Hm.. I guess so. Let's head to school before we lose our saved time.

Maya: Yeah you're right!

They go to school and go through their greeting with Emi like always and Yuuka goes to class to rest until the teacher arrives for class to start.

Boy: Mister Fujimoto said he was planning something for the martial arts club next week so be prepared for a challenge Baruto.

Baruto: Ha challenge accepted, thanks for telling me but I don't need any early preparations you know!

Yuuka: (Hm Kiyotaka, Kimiko's brother is quite the guy. He's friends with everyone but doesn't have any outstanding talents like the rest of us. And Baruto the black belt, the only thing that's more fiery than his resilient personality is his bright red hair. Those two are great friends to have.)

Yuuka stops looking to his right at them and instead focuses his gaze directly forward at the two girls in front of him, one sitting in the chair with her knees up like a roly-poly, and the other leaning against her table chatting with her.

Yuuka: (Shiroha and Cherry. They're both really laid back, but Shiroha is my favorite. She has natural snow white hair, probably due to extremely low melanin, and she also has an almost identical personality to me. Cherry the standing one, is always hanging around Shiroha and is generally fun to be around.)

Cherry glances at Yuuka, noticing his stare before taking her seat to the right of her friend, before Shiroha sets her feet on the floor sitting more properly, and Yuuka rests his face in his left hand, waiting. soon the teacher arrives and proceeds with class.

Mr. Fujimoto: One last thing class, summer break is very soon so you'll have no school for that period of time, and clubs will continue depending on what the leaders decide. I'm not quite sure of all the details of summer break yet so I'll tell you some other time how long it will last and what will be happening going forth. You may now all be dismissed.
