Later that day

Kartik finally secured a house in Rishikesh with the help of the broker. The modest but cozy space seemed perfect for his small family. After signing the paperwork, he expressed his gratitude.
“Thank you so much for all your help,” Kartik said earnestly, shaking the broker's hand.
“It’s my pleasure, sir,” the broker replied with a smile.

To keep his location secret from his family, Kartik decided not to establish a new branch of their family business in Rishikesh. Instead, leveraging his qualifications and the support of a local friend, he accepted a job that would allow him to provide for Kairav and Akshu while maintaining a low profile.
For sometime he preferred to stay in hotel only till he makes the house favourable for his children to live.

Meanwhile, at the Chauhan house, Sirat was excited about her last free day before Ranveer’s return. She was determined to make the most of it and had been reading about the thrilling experience of river rafting in Rishikesh.
“Kaka,” Sirat called out eagerly, “Maine na bahut dekha aur suna River rafting k baare mein...toh kya hum kal wahan chale?”
Kaka hesitated, concerned about her safety. “Betaji, par wahan jaana......”
“Please, Kaka,” she interrupted. "Kal mhari azaadi ka aakhri din hai, parso toh waise bhi Ranveer aa jaavega...please kaka please...pleeeezzzzz”
With a reluctant nod, Kaka gave in to her enthusiasm.

Back at the hotel, Kairav was pestering Kartik with wide, excited eyes.
“Papaaaa, can we go to the river rafting place tomorrow? Please! It’s where you and Mumma first met, right?”
Kartik hesitated, his heart aching at the mention of Naira. He wanted to deny the request, but Kairav’s infectious excitement won him over.
“Ok Fine, Chalenge” Kartik relented with a soft smile, “but no rafting for you. We’ll just watch, okay?”

The night passed peacefully, but both Kartik and Sirat couldn’t shake the strange anticipation brewing within them. It was as if the universe itself was aligning for something monumental.

*************************

The morning arrived with a crisp breeze and the sound of the rushing Ganga river. Kartik and his children reached the river rafting point just as Sirat and Kaka arrived on the opposite side of the river.

Kairav tugged at Kartik’s hand. “Papa, let’s go rafting! Just one time, please!”
“Bikul nahiii ” Kartik replied, firm but kind. Yet, seeing Kairav’s crestfallen face, he sighed. "Acha theek hai par ekdum Shanti se no uchal kuud and all”
He asked his local friend who also went with them to take care of Akshu till he comes back.

Nearby, Sirat stood with Kaka, gazing at the sparkling waters. A strange sensation coursed through her.
“Kaka,” she murmured, “Manne aisa kyun laage hai ki main iss jagah pr aa chuki hu....ek alag sa apnapan lag raha yahan”
Kaka reassured her gently, “Nahi..nahi beta ji aap toh Rishikesh hi pehli baar aaye ho toh phir aap yahan kaise aa sakte ho...woh ho sakta hai na aap bata rahe the aapne dekha aur suna hai yahaan k baare mein isslie aisa lag raha hoga"

But Sirat couldn’t shake the feeling. She walked to a spot overlooking the river rafting area, her eyes scanning the scene as if searching for something—or someone.

**************************

As Kartik and Kairav’s raft bobbed on the waves, the laughter of the group filled the air. However, in the middle of their session, a young man in another raft lost his balance and fell into the river. Panic rippled through the crowd as the current began to carry him away.

Without hesitation, Kartik dived into the icy water. His powerful strokes brought him closer to the struggling man, and he managed to pull him towards safety.

From her vantage point, Sirat’s eyes were glued to the commotion. The sight of Kartik in the water stirred something deep within her—an emotion she couldn’t name, but one that made her heart race. Her breathing quickened as she clutched the railing in front of her.

Kaka noticed her unease. “Aap theek hain, betaji?”
“I don’t know,” she whispered, unable to tear her eyes away from the scene. “There’s something… about him.”

As Kartik emerged from the river, drenched but triumphant, he handed the rescued man over to the rafting staff.

Sirat blinked, her hands trembling slightly. “Who… is he?” she asked herself softly, unaware that her life was about to change forever.

🎵Kyu koi pass hai
Door hai Kyu koi
Jane Na koi yaha pe
Aa rha pass ya dur main ja raha
Jaanu na me hun kahaan pe
Yeh dooriyan
In rahon ki dooriyan
Nigaahon ki dooriyan
Hum raahon ki dooriyan
Fanaah ho sabhi dooriyan.....🎵
