Hobi’s gaze shifted from his phone to Jungkook, who was slouched on the couch, holding a half-empty glass of coffee. His hair was unkempt, his skin pale, and the dark circles under his eyes betrayed his sleepless night.
“You look terrible,” Hobi remarked, his tone a mix of concern and teasing.
Jungkook chapped his lips before adjusting the cooling eye mask pressed against his face. “I know,” he muttered, massaging the mask gently. “I hope this works. I can’t afford to show up with bags under my eyes.”
Hobi crossed his arms, leaning against the counter. “So, you really stayed up all night… just to open an Instagram account?”
Jungkook shot him a glare, his pride visibly bruised.
“And then you deleted it?” Hobi chuckled, the corners of his mouth twitching with amusement.
“I don’t find it funny,” Jungkook replied curtly, his tone sharp but tired.
Hobi smirked. “You told me you were going to ‘go to war’ with Taehyung when you met him. But from what I heard, nothing happened.”
Jungkook’s expression darkened as he stood, the coffee mug still in hand. “He’s not even worthy of a war,” he retorted, walking toward the kitchen. The frustration in his voice was palpable as he rinsed the mug in the sink, the clink of ceramic against metal breaking the silence.
Turning back, Jungkook let out a sigh. “Hyung, can you clear my schedule after this photoshoot? I really need to rest. Sleep. Recharge.”
Hobi’s teasing demeanor softened as he nodded. “Alright. But how about we do something different instead?”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”
“Let’s travel somewhere. Just for a day. Somewhere calm and peaceful, away from all this media chaos and drama.”
Jungkook considered it for a moment, his expression shifting into one of tentative hope. “That actually sounds… good. Really good. Can you make the arrangements?”
“Of course,” Hobi replied, already pulling out his phone. “I’ll take care of everything.”
“Thanks,” Jungkook said, a small smile gracing his lips as he leaned back on the kitchen counter. For the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself a moment to relax. “I really need to escape for a bit.”
Hobi glanced at the clock on his phone. “It’s already 10, by the way.”
Jungkook groaned softly but pushed himself off the counter. “Give me two minutes. I just need to change my top, and we can head out.”
He disappeared into his bedroom, rummaging through his wardrobe until he found a modest yet classy outfit. A white-colored t-shirt paired with denim jeans and a shirt over it, gave him a polished but understated look. After checking his reflection in the mirror, he ran a hand through his hair, giving it a slightly tousled appearance.
