Dear Grandpa Charles,The autumn leaves are falling again, and I always think of you when the air gets crisp and the world turns golden. You were my first best friend, the one who taught me what love feels like. Even though I was so little when you left, the memories we shared are as warm and bright as a cozy fire.
I wish I could've been there to say goodbye, but I carry you with me in my heart every day. I imagine you would've been so proud of the person I'm becoming—and I hope you know I'm proud to be your grandchild. Rest in peace. You and grandma never parted in death.
I love you always, Grandpa.
With all my heart,
Your favorite granddaughter, Hayli Hill.
