GIANA
"Ry'Nel you think your mom will let me stay over the night?" I asked as she stopped at a red light, nearing Kas's apartment.
"Girl probably not, I mean I can ask but we got my cousins over for the weekend and it's too many of them," she explained.
Shit. "Don't worry it's fine. I was trying not to have to hear my mother's mouth."
"Girl, why don't you ask Kas? That nigga don't have nobody over his place and I know you like that man."
"How you know? Ain't nothin' special bout that boy," I said trying to hide my blushing cheeks.
"Gir—" she laughed. "So you thought I wouldn't figure it out? You didn't have to say or do much, you get extra weird around him. Besides, I think y'all would go great together, he's like the meditation to your rage."
I sighed, "Ahh, no it's more like the other way around. Okay, so what if I do like him? I can't be in a relationship, look at me."
"See that's your problem, you're focused on what on the outside. He doesn't care about that, okay, he does, but it's not all that he looks for. He's a very understanding person, he may be difficult to understand and read at times but he's a really sweet and analytical person, just give him some time."
"Should I tell him about how I feel?"
"No, not right now anyway. Wait until you feel completely comfortable or until he starts to open up to you," she explained.
"What if we like...I don't know, kiss, or something?"
"Well, um, if that does happen make sure you both wanted it to happen, whether random or planned. Have you ever actually been in a relationship before?" she asked.
"I have but it's been a minute, it wasn't exactly happy either. I just remember feeling like I didn't matter to them; like I was just there for bragging rights."
"Well I can tell you one thing, Kas ain't like that. I know you'll need to see that for yourself but he isn't like any other guy, " she said as she pulled up to Kas's apartment.
She turned around and started to wake him up, only to realize he was already awake.
"We at your house boy. Can GiGi stay the night with you?"
"I'on know who you talkin' to like that wit' ya breath smelling like upset titty sweat, " he looked over at me, "Yeah you can stay over. You okay?"
I giggled as Ry'Nel rolled her eyes, "Yes, I'm okay. I just need some space from home." I didn't even have to ask him... I wonder how much of the conversation he heard.
"I feel it. I'm sleepy still so I'ma go back to sleep. Ry I'ma see you later," he said as he got out of the car.
"Ya muva," she replied. I hugged her and reached for my bag, getting out of the car, and closing the door.
"Ya auntie," he said, laughing. "I love you cuzzo."
"I love ya dirty neck havin' ass too, stay safe and treat her right or I'ma cut you," she said, glancing at me.
Black people never know how to just end a conversation with somebody. I shook my head and waited for them to finish. their mini roast session. They could go at it for days and then start complimenting each other like it never happened. They a mess.

We finally got settled in his place after what felt like a year. He has a nice setup but before I get into that, a bitch is hungry.
