Jiya's POV

I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in my thoughts. My childhood memories played in my mind, taking me back to when I was just 9, and he was around 13. I used to visit their house regularly to play with Ahana, Adrisha Back then, he didn't like having me around.

I remember the way he'd frown at my presence, annoyed by my giggling and constant chatter. But all of that changed when Nandini Aunty, introduced me as Ahana's friend.

After that, he started talking to me, asking about my favorite things-colors, foods, everything. He began playing with us, laughing, teasing, and slowly, he became my friend. Over time, I started liking him, more than just a friend.

Then the day came. The day he left for London. He was going away for his higher studies. I was devastated, and the memory of that day is still so vivid in my mind. His words from that moment have stayed with me, even after all these years.

Two kids sat under a big, leafy tree. A little girl, crying messily, her eyes swollen from all the tears, her cheeks red, and her nose runny. And a boy beside her, was doing his best to calm her down.

"Cupcake, please, don't cry," he pleaded, his voice soft but urgent.

"Please don't go," the girl sobbed, clutching onto him as if that would keep him from leaving.

The boy sighed, gently wiping her tears away. "Cupcake, I promise I'll come back soon."

"No... no... please don't leave," she repeated, her little heart breaking.

The boy cupped her face, looking her straight in the eyes. "If you stop crying, I'll give you a blueberry cupcake," he said with a smile, trying to cheer her up.

Her eyes lit up. "Really? You'll give me a blueberry cupcake?" she asked, suddenly hopeful.

"Yes, my little cupcake. But listen," he said, his tone turning serious. "I have to go. My father says I must go to London, and you know na I can't say no to him."

She sniffled, still not convinced. "But what about me?"

The little boy smiled, pinching her cheek gently. "I'll come back for you. And when I do, we'll get married."

"Married? What's that?" she asked innocently, not understanding the weight of his words.

"I don't really know either," he admitted, his brow furrowed. "But I heard people say that if two people like each other, they should get married. And I like my cupcake very much."

"I like you too," she said, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.
