As the laughter subsided, and the ridiculousness of their impromptu game slowly died down, there was a sudden, sharp sound from the kitchen. A loud meow echoed through the villa, followed by the unmistakable sound of glass shattering.
"That’s it," Jin groaned, his voice filled with resignation. "Who let the damn cat in?"
Everyone froze for a split second. The sound of glass breaking was followed by the faint scratching of claws on the hardwood floor. And then, they saw it: a tiny, devilish kitten darting across the room at lightning speed, its little paws skittering across the floor like it had no intention of slowing down.
“Not again!” Taehyung shouted, seeing the cat dart straight toward the fragile vase sitting on the windowsill. It was the same vase they had almost lost to that cat last week, but this time, the stakes were higher.
"Stop it!" Jungkook yelled, snapping into action. His reflexes kicked in as he reached out, his hand nearly grazing the kitten’s tail, but it was too quick. The kitten zoomed past him in a blur, leaving him grabbing at the air. He cursed as the cat’s claws lightly scratched across his hand, leaving a red streak. “Ouch! It’s like this thing’s part velociraptor!”
Without missing a beat, Suga’s eyes flashed as he activated his Void Veil, cloaking himself and the others in shadows, causing the cat to hesitate. However, it quickly darted out of the veil, relentless in its chaos. "It’s like this thing’s got a vendetta against us!" Suga muttered, trying to maintain his calm.
The room seemed to move in slow motion as Taehyung’s voice rang out: “I got this!”
In an instant, he was a streak of lightning, his Reality Distortion ability creating vivid illusions around the kitten, confusing it as it skidded across the floor. But despite the disorienting visual effects, the kitten managed to evade them, its claws swiping at anything in its path. One swipe caught Taehyung on the arm, drawing blood. He hissed and clutched his arm, his playful demeanor faltering for a second. “This cat is going to be the death of me!”
Meanwhile, Jin was working his magic with his Earth Sovereignty, summoning stone walls to block off the kitten’s path and protect the fragile vase. But the kitten dashed underneath his barrier, too quick for even Jin’s powerful defenses. “Damn, it’s faster than we thought!” Jin cursed, wincing as the kitten scratched his leg in its escape.
Jimin, ever the chaotic one, attempted to use his Soul Resonance to calm the kitten’s frantic energy, but the creature was too wild. Instead, it swiped at his nose, leaving a light scratch. “OW! It’s like a furry demon!” Jimin yelped, hopping on one foot as he rubbed his scratched shin.
Hoseok, panicked, summoned a Cyclonic Speed tornado, sending gusts of wind in every direction. The kitten skittered through the chaos, dodging the winds with remarkable agility. But as it did, it got too close to Hoseok and swiped at his arm. “What the hell is this cat made of?!” Hoseok exclaimed, rubbing his wound. The tornado he created swirled, disrupting the room even further.
Jungkook, who had been preparing for this moment, activated his Solar Wrath, summoning powerful sunbeams from the sky. The rays cut through the air, bright and intense, but the kitten managed to evade them by ducking and weaving. He wasn’t quite able to capture it, but the light shone brightly, dazzling everyone around them. “I thought fire would work better against a cat... guess not.”
Suga, frustrated with the madness, amplified the Void Veil around him and his allies, attempting to make them invisible to the kitten. It stopped for a moment, distracted by the shadows, but only for a few seconds.
Jin sighed, his calm demeanor faltering. “At this rate, we’ll have to rebuild the entire villa.”
Taehyung laughed through gritted teeth, holding up the kitten in a vice-like grip. “I saved the cat... and the vase... but I think everything else is a disaster.”
“You’re a hero... kind of,” Jin said dryly, wiping his brow and leaning back. “If only the cat would stop attacking.”
The kitten, now completely still in Taehyung’s arms, blinked up at him innocently, its claws still dripping with tiny scratches from its earlier assaults. “I’m not sure this thing even knows it’s been causing chaos,” Taehyung muttered, holding the kitten carefully.
“Yeah, at this point, it feels like it’s all part of some larger catastrophe,” Jimin said, rubbing his nose where the cat had scratched him.
The room was a mess of overturned furniture, broken glass, and papers scattered everywhere from the wind. The scent of scorched fabric lingered from the fire incident caused by Hoseok, and everyone was a little worse for wear, with minor cuts, scratches, and bruises from their own failed attempts at containing the chaos.
“Well,” Jin said, standing up and dusting himself off, “at least we didn’t accidentally blow up the house this time.”
The group collectively sighed in relief, but deep down, they knew they’d handle whatever came their way. Together, they always did. And as the kitten purred contentedly in Taehyung’s arms, they couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all.
"Let’s get some food," Hoseok said, smiling despite the destruction around them. "I think we’ve earned it."
And with that, the group of demigods and royals, now bruised and scratched, made their way to the kitchen, ready to face whatever madness the next few hours would bring.
