Alex's POV

Strange. It's so quiet which is weird. My mates aren't normally this quiet. I don't hear their breathing nor heartbeats, which is even more weird seeing as I always lay my head on their chests whenever we sleep together.

Listening some more, there was no sounds of snores coming from Taylor or Eli. Neither was there any arms around me, an uncomfortable and overwhelming warmth that my mates always had with them which leans to be overheated and sweaty.

It was just...nothing. There was nothing. No sign of my mates, mom, or friends. Where are they? No one them leaves me alone, someone is always following me or by my side.

Wait-where's Mist? Where's my wolf? How come I don't feel her? By the Goddess, what's going on!? Mist!? MIST!? Damn it!

Trying to open my eyes, heart pouching against my chest, panic took over when I realized that I couldn't open my eyes. What's going on? Why can't I move? How come my eyes aren't opening?

I was just talking to this strange woman than...what happened after that? I don't remember. Did I pass out or something? Did something happen to my mates? My wolf?

Trying to move, forcing my eyes open which didn't budge, there was a small chuckle, making me freeze. A hand started playing with my hair, it was gentle and soft, small too. A woman's hand. It was so warm that I couldn't help but lean into her touch. The panic leaving me in an instant.

"Seems like your magic has finally fully restored." My magic? I don't have any magic, I'm a plain or werewolf, right? Or am I forgetting something again? Something about the gods.

The woman leaned down and whispered in my ear before I could remember. "It's time to wake up, our little champion."

-

My eyes fluttered open and instantly shut them when the sunlight burned them. I groaned, putting an arm over my eyes to shield them. Why is it so bright? It wasn't like that a few minutes ago.

Something shattered. Confused, moving my arm a little, I turned my head to look at what happened. Seeing a maid standing there a few feet away, eyes wide and mouth agap. A shattered plate at her feet. "Hi?" What's wrong with her?

Snapping out of it at the sound of my voice, the maid spun around and quickly rushed out of the room. After a moment, she started yelling. "Her highness is awake! Her highness is awake!" Okay, what's up with all the yelling.

Groaning as I pushed myself up, hand over my stomach, and eyes squinting, I looked around the room that hadn't seem to change other than the fact that I was alone. Where'd my mates and mom go? They were just here.

Suddenly, the door bursted open. Startling me as I snap my head around, eyes wide when a blur rushed towards me and a pair of arms wrapped around my neck. The only think I could see was the color of red hair. Star.

"Star? What's going on?" Trying to turn my head to look at her, my heart broke when hearing her cry. Burying her face into my neck. Not answering my question as I felt her warm tears drip onto my skin. "Why are you crying?" I asked gently, rubbing her back.

Star couldn't give me an answer before the sound of loud and fast approaching footsteps made my wolf ears shot up. Turning my head, a few seconds later, Jane and Emma appeared. Stopping at the door, eyes wide as they stared at me and Star.

Confused, I gave them a small wave. "Hey." Tears formed in the twos eyes and they were quick to rush over to Star and I, wrapping their arms around us. Why is everyone crying all of a sudden?

I groaned, feeling suffocated. "Guys...I can't breath. Mind loosening up a bit?" My mates didn't seem to hear me when I spoke.

Trying to take deep breaths before I blacked out due to air lost, I could hear Emma start to cry, making me more confused. Why are they crying so much? Did someone die or something.

"Umm?" I shifted uncomfortably, their arms tightening around me, like they were afraid that I was going to disappear. "Can someone please tell me that's going on? I'm so confused right now." I whined out, trying to get out of their hugs to breath.

Pulling away, Emma wiped her tears away. Her cheeks red as she sniffled to calm herself. The other two still clinging to me, slowly calming down too and their cries turned to nothing. Leaving only their heavy breathing.

"Alex, you were asleep for five years." I froze, my eyes widened while staring at Emma. "What?"
