“Gets naman kita na mayaman ka, Vivi. Pero bakit out of nowhere gusto mo bumili ng bagong phone?” Naguguluhang tanong ni Celeste.
Dahil nga sa nangyari kahapon ay naisip ko na agad na bumili ng bagong phone kinabukasan matapos mangyari ‘yon.
I’m supposed to just get a new phone number, but my guts told me to buy a new phone. Hindi ko pina-utos kay Kiel dahil alam ko ang mangyayari, baka maulit nanaman ‘yung pagpalit ni Von ng gamit ko, gaya ng ginawa niya sa gown ko.
That’s why I didn’t wait for the day to pass any longer and went to the nearest mall together with my friend, the only one—Celeste.
“I just want to.” She scratched her head in frustration and just let me walk around the store.
“Are you serious? You already have two phones, Vivi,” she said, looking at me with a puzzled look on her face, clearly confused.
“Of course I am. I’ll give the old one to Manang Belle and Lily.”
“Angas mo rin e ‘no.”
“I’ll change my number too.”
“Huh, bakit?“ I sighed and looked at her.
“Tumawag siya sa'kin. Hindi ko alam kung pa’no, but he got my number, and it’s really creeping me out.”
Hindi ko alam pa’no niya ba ‘to lahat na gagawa, I’m sure he’s a perilous kind of man—I need to get away from him as soon as possible.
“Upgraded? Number mo nakuha niya na ngayon? How about staying over at my house for awhile, Viv? Just to be safe? “
I shook my head.
“No, he’s not that dumb. Malalaman at malalaman niya pa rin kung nasa’n ako.”
“How about moving to another country?“
That’s quite a good idea, but what if he’ll find out about my whereabouts again? Lilipat nanaman ako hanggang sa ma-ikot ko na ang buong mundo?That’s just a waste of money.
“You know I can’t do that. may ginagawa ako sa company. This is what I could do for now.”
“Pa’no kung guluhin ka pa rin niya?“
That’s what I’m concerned about too. That problem—that I couldn’t solve. kahit siguro may formula ako para rito, I’m sure this problem wouldn’t be solved that fast.
“That’s not impossible, Celeste. If that’s what he wants to do, I’ll let him. But I won’t agree with what he wants—to marry me!"
Sino ba papayag na mag-pakasal sa sarili niyang stalker, ‘di ba? Hindi naman ako gano’n ka-tanga.
Fine, maybe I’m stupid, but I’m not that stupid para mag-pakasal sa katulad niya. I don’t even know what he looks like. perhaps he’s older than my dad.
No, thanks.
“You sure you’ll be okay?“
“Ano pa bang magagawa ko, Cel. He might be powerful—look, he could get any information about me in just a few minutes.”
“Nakita mo na ba ‘yang lalaki na ‘yan?....or maybe you two already met somewhere?“
“Hindi ako bulag, pero hindi ko pa siya nakikita.... I've never seen him approach me or whatever. But I know, he's probably eyeing on me.”
“That’s uncomfortable, asf.”
“Sinabi mo pa, pero ano bang magagawa ko.”
We strolled around the mall for an hour. Ilang oras din kasi ako nahirapan sa pag-pili ng phone, and I also got distracted by some products and a lot of stuff here. Kaya napabili ako ng mga kung ano-ano ng wala sa oras.
