002. DARKNESS AND FEAR
▌CASSIE WALKED through her empty street pulling her bike next to her until she finally reached her house.
The girl opened the door and stepped in quietly. "Cindy is that you!?" Her mom called from the kitchen. "It's Cassie. Always has been."
It was now around 7pm Cassie was sat on her bed reading her book. "CASSIE!" Tina shouted from downstairs causing her to jump off her bed with a sigh swinging her door open. But instead of being greeted with the usual hallway of her home no. She was greeted with something else.
It was a black void that looked like it never ended. Cassie eyebrows furrowed confused looking around when she realised her socks were getting soaked causing her to look down at water that was probably ankle deep.
Cass groaned in disgust looking back up and seeing a row off mirrors each one caused her to look slightly different but the one that caught the brunettes eye was the one in the middle. It was her but it wasn't, the reflection had messy hair and dirt splatted over her face.
Cassie blinked and it changed causing her to stumble back. The new reflection had blood splattered on her face and dripping down her wrists.
"This is a dream." Cassie whispered closing her eyes. When she opened her eyes again the Mirrors were gone and it was just her standing in the void. Cass felt something warm drip from her nose and whipped it looking at her hand that had now fresh blood on it.
"You'll float to Cassie."
The brunette whipped her head round and saw her reflection again but this time it was on the floor barely breathing and above was a clown holding a red balloon.
"We all float down here. Yes we do!" It snickered as it ran towards her laughing like a manic causing Cassie to quickly cover her eyes and screams tripping landing on the murky water.
"CASSIE!" She removed her shaking hands to find herself sat on her bedroom floor against the wall her older sister standing over her.
"CASSIE!?" Tina said again tapping her sister's cheek.
"T-the clown.." Cass breathed shaking.
"What?"
"Mirrors..clown..floating!"
"You're safe it's ok." Tina hesitated for a moment before pulling the younger girl into a hug.
