Chapter 10 : Light & Shadow

In the earlier chapters we saw Kouki Amanogava being summoned by the Kingdom of Arcadia.

He thought , this was another of those goddesses summoning where he had to clean up their mess and save lives in the process.

This was what he thought.

But it only took one night , to shatter Kouki's assumptions of this summoning.

On the night of being summoned, when Kouki was heading to sleep in his chamber , a letter flew through his window and landed on his bed .

And when Kouki opened the letter, the contents of the letter turned his peaceful night to Restless .

The letter said :

When the time comes shall the petals unfold, nothing shall remain in the pond it rose .

Darkness cultivates only where it solds , Anyone who touches , shall be turned to mold .                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ff

A message ? No , more Like a Warning .

A warning for Him ? For What ? And By whom ?

There was a strange symbol too .

A symbol that resembles a Lotus ? A flower he has seen on earth .

But it's Black .

" Black Lotus ? "

' What Does it mean ? '

So Many questions flooded his mind . But No answer came to his mind .

He thought to check for some more clue . Magic Signatures maybe ?

But it soon crumbled into dust . Like powdered Mold . Powdered mold of grayish-black color .

With The letter disintegrated , he lost his chance to collect it as an evidence or further search for any clue .

This had never happened before.

Never before had such type of situation occurred.

A summon which is not so simple as it seems .

This shook Kouki's mind and Snatch away his sleep for the rest of the night .

—Time : 12:10am—

Before Kouki could bring his thoughts back, he heard a small noise coming from the northwest part of the palace .

This brought his attention towards the noise that was not loud , but still somewhat audible to Kouki .

Kouki guessing the sound's location walked in that direction.

(STEP* STEP*)

Soon he arrived at the verandah where he could easily hear the commotion going on in the hallway of palace .

Villager1: " You think We are Greedy ! You Want to us to forget and pretend to Not see What you People have Done ! "

" Then Let me Clear one thing . I , No we will Not Tolerate this Tyranny of Your So called King . We WILL Protest Against this Blasphemy . "
