Chapter 7

In the Last chapter we saw the Knights that arrived near Naofumi territory made several spy attempts to seek information about Rimuru and Miyu . But Got None . Meanwhile Both of them Escaped into the Forest .

Night served as their cloak, their footsteps muffled by the damp forest floor as they made their escape. The town, once a beacon of warmth and camaraderie, had morphed into a cage of suspicion and whispers that followed them like slithering shadows.

"This way," Miyu whispered, her voice barely louder than the rustling wind. She moved with the silent grace of a seasoned adventurer, her eyes scanning their surroundings for any hint of pursuit.

Rimuru, too was blending seamlessly with the darkness, followed closely behind. Despite the urgency of their flight, a sense of relief washed over him. With each step away from the town, the oppressive weight of false accusations began to lift.

"Thanks for Saving me," he said softly, his voice tinged with gratitude. " Sorry . Cause of me You all are in trouble now ."

Miyu halted her footsteps and stood there.

Rimuru: "I am sorry for Landing you all in this trouble. I am sorry That because of me We had to separate like this . I am sorry cause because of me We all are now Fugitives."

Miyu Stood there without saying a word . Her back was facing Rimuru . The whole area was in a pin drop silence , only followed by the chirping of insects and Rimuru's voice.

As much he had Gratitude towards them . He felt Guilty more about it . On one side he had friends that are willing to help him at any cost . On other side its cause of him , they are now branded as Wanted individuals.

They who could have a better future if they didn't helped him out . They might have risen through ranks , earn titles , or even Nobility in the Kingdom. Fame or Money , they could have both if they hadn't helped him escape .

This was something that Rimuru couldn't get off his mind . A guilt he believed he was responsible for landing them such a future.

A future of Fugitives .

They had played their role as his friends. But what about him .

When they were making the escape . He thought it was maybe cause of the rush that he didn't think through or could be Cause he just wanted to prove himself innocent That he didn't think through .

But weren't they excuses .

Rimuru: "I am just too selfish."( his voice was filled with guilt , pain and sadness . And tears can be seen in the corner of his eyes.)

There was silence for few seconds . Which was then broken by Miyu as Rimuru finished his confession.

Miyu : "Selfish You say ."

Miyu : "Whats Wrong in Being Selfish?"

Rimuru : ".....?"

Miyu : "If Saving a friend counts as Selfishness. Then I AM SELFISH . If Demanding For Justice counts as Selfishness, Then I AM Selfish . And If Doing the Right thing is called as Selfishness, Then I AM Selfish . Infact We all are Selfish ."
