Before the meeting and it's events took place near town. Lily-Rose would be in the kitchen of her home getting the pie ready to take to Tian-Chen.

She would smile up at her mom who just watched Lily with adoration in her beautiful features. "Is it almost ready?" Deana asked excited to see the finally results of her daughter cooking. "Yeah. I'm gonna head over to the diner to give Tian-Chen the pie then I'll run back." Lily says with a small smile on her face as he wipes her fingers on a napkin.

"How's Kenny doing? You spoke to him yet?" Lily would freeze at her mothers question. She glanced up at her mom and shook her head no before looking back down at the finished pie.

Deana knew to not push any further, so, instead she just smiled and stood up. "Talk to him today. He needs comfort from his friends." Deana says before smiling at her daughter and walking over to press a kiss on her daughters forehead before walking out the room. Lily would sigh and look down at the pie.

Hope she likes it.

Lily-Rose

"Tian-Chen?" I shout out the older woman's name as I walk in through the diner doors. I look around to see a few people in the diner but not the person I'm looking for.

I walk forward and go behind the counter and then to the kitchen. I look to my right and see Tian-Chen making tea on the stove. I smile at her and she looks up at me with surprise. "Lily." Is all I understand before she said something in Chinese. The way she says my name in her accent making me smile. Sounding more LeeLee than Lily If I had to take a guess, she probably asked what i'm doing here since it's almost time for everyone to head home. "Tian-Chen. I have something for you." I say with a slight smile.

I'm nervous.

I really tried to remember all the things she taught me. How to make an apple pie with so many few ingredients. But it's hard when you have few ingredients.

I show her the lie and she looks at it for a few second before I see her eyes watering. I freak out and place the lie down by the counter and try to make her stop crying but i'm obviously freaking the fuck out. "Why—Tian—why are you—I—" I stutter painfully and she just cries in front of me.

I didn't have time for it to register in my brain before it happened but...she hugs me.

Her frail arms are around me and she's rubbing my back. And although i'm leaning down in a slightly uncomfortable position for her sake, I stay there...for her. She cries on my shoulder for a minute before she sniffles and let's me go with a pat on my back. She wipes her face and I'm still pretty shocked from what just happened so I stand there awkwardly.
