Fireflies

As I Fell Asleep

I live in the world of the still and the dark

With the monster within

Annihilation begins

I see the the world close up to try for some rest

But still life goes on

It won't wait for the dawn

I hear Heaven snore while below Hell just screams

'Pleas help me my love

Just take me above!'

I feel the earth rumble with deep heavy sleep

My world moves all as one

My world feels all as one

I taste the cool air biting down on my skin

This do not fear

I will keep you safe dear

And every black night that has ever died

Had never seen this earth as still as I

For no matter how bravely or hard I fight

I am just another night
