A slender man with blond hair awoke as his phone beside him rang out with a loud 'bzzt'. His body automatically sprung to life, sitting up as his hands groggily searched around in the darkness. His eyes adjusted to the dim lighting as he quickly turned off the alarm, silently groaning to himself. It was an irritating process he could never get used to.
He glanced over to his sleeping partner he had been entangled with all afternoon. He slowly and silently eased himself out of bed, not wanting to wake him up, before sneaking out and hastily dressing himself. He carefully placed a few bills of money on the bedside table before exiting the hotel room quietly. The crisp nighttime air stung his throat and pricked at his skin. It was an uncomfortable sensation, the wind sharp and piercing against his frame.
Well, at least it helped him to wake up.
He sat down on a bench at the train station, quietly lighting a cigarette.
The night air spat a cold breeze against his face. He stretched, arching his back to rid himself of the lingering traces of sleep, before giving a small groan of pain and discomfort as he rubbed his sore lower back.
