1| I'm Coming Home

Note: This story happens after the prestigious Grand Magic Games. This is my first story and I am not that experienced. So please bear with me if something in here that is 'not' from the manga. I wrote this a very long time before the revelation about Zeref's relation to Natsu.

Expect this story to be different from what happened in the manga.

*Riding a Train back to Magnolia*

Her mind silently drifted into the past, her vision seemed to dim out, the light fading away when...

"You did great there Akari! I told you, you can defeat those demons!" Ace, Akari's friend and an Exceed, beamed at his friend.

Quickly disposing her surprise, she flashed a smile and replied "WE defeated those demons, Ace"

Akari fetched her shoulder bag and took a paper bag from it. "Here ya go~!" 

Ace's eyes flashed with excitement as he opened the package.

"FFFIIIISSSSHHHH!"

Placing her elbow on the window sill, she smiled while gazing at her Exceed friend. "That job really starved you huh?" 

"Mmm-hhmmm!" Ace nodded in response. "Thanks a lot!"

Akari Fuyuki (and Ace) had finished their mission of defeating demons which were responsible for the kidnapping of children and the destruction of their village. They successfully brought the children back safely and helped in rebuilding the village.

Akari Fuyuki is one of the S-Class Mages of the reckless yet happy guild of Fairy Tail. She possesses powerful Magic that was believed not to exist. The only ones who had seen her power were Ace and the Guild Master Makarov.

Magic is the main form of combat for Mages and is bought and sold all over the Kingdom of Fiore and all throughout the world. It was said that every type of Magic comes from "the One Magic", the original source of all types of magic. Magic was once oppressed and feared, but gradually became an everyday phenomenon.

Mages, also known as Wizards, who wield Magic of any kind. They comprise only 10% of the living population of Earth Land, with the remaining 90% being either incapable or unwilling to use Magic.They are known for usually being affiliated to a Guild, where they can take on Jobs as a source of personal income and adventure; according to Lucy Heartfilia, Mages can't be considered full-fledged until they join a Guild of their own choosing.

"If only it didn't happen, I would've been able to come home a bit earlier" she mused in her mind as a scene flashed before her eyes.

Making sure the children's lives are spared was difficult to achieve and what's more difficult was the event that made the mission need more time to get it finished. 

She flexed her fingers, trying to make sure it would never ever feel like that before. 

'S-Class Mages are strong and powerful. Weakness musn't be shown'

A loud snoring sound was heard and to her surprise, she found her friend fast asleep next to a skeleton of the fish.

She shook her head with a small smile etched on her features as she glanced at her watch.  "Two more hours huh?"

Akari shrugged her shoulders and decided to take a nap. 

The moment her eyes drooped to a close, the horrible mission appeared but was shortly replaced with the aftermath and eventually, her family welcoming her back.

"I'm coming home"

She felt the train pull into a stop to the point that it managed to wake Ace up from his sleep. 

"Let's go sleepyhead" Akari gestured at the Exceed who sleepily nodded at her.

"You fool, in the end you're just like those normal people" 

Akari shook the voice of her head and thought of happy things. She had her family and that's what matters now, doesn't it?
