A little heartwarming chapter :)

"Relax, girls. I know it's been four days but—"

"That's the problem, Flora! It's been four days and she's shown no signs of waking up," Isadora interjected, throwing her arms up in exhaustion before plopping down on the ground, next to Musa.

Stella, who was sitting on Flora's bed, began grumbling, her eyebrows pinched together in annoyance before she jumped to her feet. "Ok, if we're going to stay up with her all night, let's talk about important stuff."

"You think she's got a boyfriend?"

Without hesitation, Musa retorted, "Wouldn't you rather talk about Brandon's girlfriend?"

Flustered beyond measure, Stella turned on her heel and bent down to face Musa. "And who is Brandon's girlfriend?"

"You are, Stella. Remember?"

Musa unapologetically smiled at Tecna's words, finding the blonde's emotional rollercoaster amusing. The room remained silent for all of three seconds before everyone laughed, filling the space with a much-needed peace.

Once the laughter died down, Tecna checked her phone when a shocked expression flashed across her face before quickly masking with behind her typical neutrality. "The sun will be up in exactly twelve minutes."

"Oh no! None have slept a wink! How will we stay awake tomorrow?" Flora cried, beyond shocked by the sudden revelation. But Stella, on the other hand, was far more than accepting of whatever would come next.

"Don't worry, let's just sleep in. It's the first week of school and classes are optional," she said, waving a manicured hand in the air as if to dismiss the topic altogether.

"Sure, Stella," Musa yawned, stretching her body to the darkened sky as she let out a yawn. "What a great way to start off the year."

Stella sighed, defeated as she clapped her hands, an odd smile gracing her features. "Fine, fine. Bedtime, ladies. Enough talk about boys," she decided. Exhausted, everyone offered their brief goodbyes before heading off to their own bedrooms.

Tailing behind Tecna, Isadora spared the purple haired girl one last wave going their separate ways. As she walked down the halls, Isadora couldn't help but shiver as a slight draft blew through the window at the end of the corridor.

Coming up to her door, Isadora pushed it open and immediately walked in, where she was greeted by a strange warmth radiating through the enclosed space. Curiouser and curiouser, she began looking around the room when she caught sight of a familiar trunk.

And then it clicked: the dragon incubator was likely the cause of such a drastic change in the temperature. Drained, Isadora let out an exhausted sigh before walking past the trunk, trying her hardest to ignore the heat that it was producing as she flung open the doors to her closet and grabbed the white nightgown.

Making quick work of her party attire, it took little effort to change into her pajamas and toss her clothes into the basket in the corner of her room. Once she fully clothed, she made a beeline for her bed and all but dove into the duvet.

Burned out, yet content, she finally slipped into her bed, the soft sheets enveloping her like a cocoon. The gentle hum of the night outside her window lulled her into a deep sleep.

As she drifted off, the familiar comfort of her room faded away, replaced by an eerie silence. When she opened her eyes, she found herself lying on a cold, strange feeling surface. Confused, Isadora placed her hands on each of her sides, cringing at the seemingly cold liquid beneath her palm.
