Together Again

Panem?

Rose' POV
The Doctor pulled me along further into the village with Jack not far behind. We went up to a darker skinned woman.
"Yes um hello. I was wondering where are we?" The Doctor politely asked her. She gave him an odd look before responding.
" This is District 10." The Doctor looked at her willing for her to continue. "Panem." She said simply. My eyes widened. 'No it's only a book.' I thought.
"Thank you!" I called to her as se walked away.
"No problem." She said as she continued walking. I looked at the Doctor and Jack.
"Rose whats wrong?" Jack asked me putting a hand on my shoulder.
" Panem. It's from a book. The Hunger Games, I read them back in the other universe. It's about something that could happen in the future. Panem in America in the future. The capitol forces each of the 12 districts to send one boy and one girl from each district to go to an arena and fight to the death." I took a breath, " It's the Capital's way of controlling them and making sure they don't start an uprising." I looked up at the Doctor to see the look of shock on his face.
"Thats terrible." He simply said as he looked around at the people of District 10.
"What about Stormtrooper over there?"He said pointing at a peace keeper. "What are they?"
"Those are the peacekeepers they keep all the districts people in 'order' I guess, so they don't start an uprising or leave the district." After I finished the Doctor pulled me into a hug.
"I'm so glad you know this or we would probably be completely lost." He said into my hair. I love you."
"I love you too."
"Now how are we going to get the TARDIS back? Come on." He grabbed my hand and the three of us walked through District 10.
"Doctor where are we going to stay until we get the TARDIS back?" Jack asked looking around at the different houses that looked they have been through a flood. They looked like they were about to fall down.
"I dunno Jack. I just dunno." He said running a hand through his hair.

We had been walking for around and hour or so and we still haven't got any answers. A little girl who looked to be around 14 came up to us. She had auburn hair, pale skin,a lot of freckles and one blue eye and one green eye. "Hi. Are you lost? 'Cause I've seen you guys walking around for the past hour." She had a sweet American accent.
"Yeah we kinda lost and we have no place to stay." The Doctor spoke up.
"Follow me I can take you to my house and my mom can help you guys." She turned on her heel and started to walk away. We started to follow her. "My name is Fae, what about you."
"I'm Rose, thats Jack," I said pointing to him, "and thats-"
"John."The Doctor cut me off and gave me a smile.
"Are you from the Capitol?" Fae asked and stopped walking and looked at us. "The Reaping isn't till tomarrow!" She almost yelled.
"No we're not from the Capitol." Jack assured her.
"Oh are you from District 5 then?Thats where they have all the funny accents."
"Yes actually ." The Doctor said simply.
"Then why are you in District 5?"
"Well um..."
" Don't worry you don't have to tell me if don't want to."
"Thanks." I said to the little girl as we walked in to her home.
"Who's this Fae?" A woman I guessed was her mother asked.
"This is Rose, John, and Jack. There lost so I brought them here 'cause I thought you would know what to do."
"Well I suppose you three can stay here till the Reaping is over. Then I'll help you find a house all we have to do is go the Town Hall and get you registered as District 10 citizen."
"Thank You Mrs....?"
" You can call me Lilly." Lilly said with a smile. "Well you three better go get some rest, the Reaping is tomorrow and this year is the first Quarter- Quell
and six from each district will be in the arena. You to Fae you need your rest, can you show our guests to the guest bedroom?"
"Okay." Fae said stifling a yawn. She showed them a room down thee hall and left to her own. There were two beds and a small closet.
" So now what? " I asked "Tomorrow we kinda have to go to the Reaping. We won't get picked of course since we only got here today." I explained.
"We get some rest and then play it by ear."
"Okay." Both me and Jack said at the same time. The Doctor pulled me into a hug and kissed my head.
"I'm tired, I'm gonna get some sleep." I said as I sat down on the one of the beds. Soon the light turned off and the Doctor laid down next to me and pulled me close to him. I fell as sleep in his arms feeling as safe as I have ever been.
