I look up at the framed picture on the wall. I wish she hadn't died. Unknown to humans but demons are not immortal and live from 30-100 years. They can be killed. They have diseases, thousands more than humans. After they're out of school they'll be forced into an all out anarchy of a society. Murder was a non punishable deed. Just an everyday part of life. I looked once more at the picture of my mother and decided to visit her grave. It had been months since I've been there. A lump formed in my throat and I felt like I was choking on the air. I grabbed my backpack and put on some new bandages. After a minute or hour of walking I ended up at her grave. I felt the tears welling up in my eyelids. I wiped them away quickly. No one could see me like this. I bite my tongue in an attempt to hold back sobs. Only one thought went through my head. Again and again all I could think was 'it should've been me'
