I've lived a thousand different lives
in a thousand different places.

I know some tiny villages,
and countless enormous cities.
All of them stunning images,
I couldn't say which one's the prettiest.

Magical forests,
enchanted castles,
mysterious mansions,
or faraway planets,
I've already seen it all.

I know a thousand different people.

There are some that I love,
and fewer I hate.
Some are still with me,
some lost against fate.

We're friends
and family,
all at once -
me and the souls that emerge from the letters.

I've seen a thousand different times.

From the past to the future,
and all in-between.
What is in the present
nowhere to be seen.

From medieval castles
and cozy huts,
to modern buildings,
that scrape our sky.

I did a thousand beautiful things.

I flew with dragons
and swam with mermaids,
I fought with swords
from different shapes.

I stood up for what's right
and protected my people,
carried any weight
up any hill.

I've felt a thousand different feelings.

I know what joy is,
I know grief just as well.
Anger and rage,
and what it's like to be scared.

I've cried burning tears,
and salty tears,
and sweet tears,
they've left trails on the paper they sunk into,
the books that hold my every emotion,
tear-stained masterpieces.

I've lived a thousand different lives,
in a thousand different stories,
on a million different pages,
born from a billion beautiful words.
