Chapter 12- Royal Ball

Everybody lined up by the door, ready to welcome their parents to the castle. When the guards opened up the doors for their families, there were hugs everywhere. Then the royal family appeared on the stairs, also ready to welcome the families. There were kisses and hugs everywhere. Once everyone settled down in their own rooms, there was a small tea party first and the ball will be the day after.

After lunch, I decided to change into a cream and gold ball gown which has an up and down ruffle that is in the shape of a funnel. It was easier to strap a pistol on to a dress like that. So I put it into a golden pouch and strapped it across my waist. Just a sense of security. Anyways, I'm here because I have a job. With the strapless gown gold on top and there also is a few crystals just at the bottom of the rib cage. On the bottom, the dress blows out like a flower with gold slowly blending into cream(the majority on the dress cream by the way). And when I chose an edgy bridal heel that has a golden strap near the calf and a thin cream strip by the toes, I started walking around the room and realized that the dress literally caught the light. It was phenomenal.

And since I still had plenty of time, I wanted to be creative with my hair. After several minutes of mmmms and haas, aaahhhs and mmhhs, I decided to do it bridal style. I ended up doing a cross between a lace and a waterfall, leaving half down, and using the ones down to curl up into a bun and interlacing it together. After doing all that, my arms were aching like crap so I got myself some tea and looked for some pins to put on my hair. It was like my third pick which got me heads over heels. It went so well with the curls I was ecstatic! I put it on my head kind of like a tiara and I told myself that this can only happen today. It was 5:15 and I still had forty five minutes so I wondered if I should go see Eadlyn. And then I remembered that I shouldn't visit the princess since she would be really busy so I decided to just read a book and apply the makeup twenty minutes later.

When I was just about to pick up a book, I heard a small knock and went to open the door. When I opened it, I expected it to be Ahren, but instead it was Eadlyn holding a package looking stunning. We were both gapping at each other when she finally broke the silence.

"A...lyssa you look like..."

"Crap. Yeah I know."

"No. You look stunning. You should wear is all the time. Well, not literally. This is beautiful!"

"You really think so?"

"Add the make up and this," she said while holding up the package,"and then you're going to be perfect! Here, may I stay and help?"

"Absolutely!"

So we sat there for fifteen minutes working on my face since I don't like using makeup and I was seriously alien to all the stuff on the table so Eadlyn had to slowly work out her "evil plan" and then she was going to show me when she finished.

"Voila! Perfect! Here put these on!" while handing me the package.

So I peeked into the package, and gasped. It was a set of a necklace, a pair of bracelets, and earrings. They were emerald, which really brought out my eyes. The necklace was an angel eye tip with a simple silver chain. The bracelet was a clasp and all tipped with emerald colored gems. The earrings were the ones that seriously got me off guard. They were shaped like a super long raindrop with a the silver curling downward also tipped with an emerald.

"Oh Eadlyn!"

"No problem. You can keep them. They're yours!"

"Oh! Thank you so much!"

So I tried them on and when she finally let me turn around, I was stunned into silence. I was still me under the dress, makeup, and jewelry. I, Alyssa, was for once beautiful. The makeup was done pretty lightly without me even needing to ask, but the eyes shone very brightly.

"Sorry Alyssa it's forty! I need to go! And Ahren can't go with you today, sorry. We have to meet the guests."

"It's alright I understand."

I started closing the door to my room when Henri and Erik walked over from their own rooms.

"Hi Henri! Hi Eikko! Oh you two look pretty neat." I commented.

"Näytät virheetön!*" said Henri.

"Kiitos**...Let's go"

I then let Henri walk first and then hung in the back to walk with Erik. He gave me his arm and I linked my arm also. We were silent the whole way, and when we got to the Great Room, we entered, and it was already packed with people. Erik and I hung just behind Henri so that he could translate anytime.

The whole royal family entered with a huge applause. Queen America was still as bright as ever, while Eadlyn looked very mature and intimidating. Ahren was gorgeous(usual)!

Everybody danced the night away with my legs aching, but I managed to dance with more than ten people, but sadly, none of them was Ahren. Although I got a dance with Kaden and even Osten! One with Erik, and I tried to avoid dancing with the Selected but failed spectacularly! Many people commented on my dress and I was flustered! It was truly an amazing night.
