The first day of school did not go off without a hitch. It actually had multiple hitches. Stiles was paranoid, Mason was suspicious, and there was a new girl that apparently knows Liam.

-

"This is the one I wanted to show you guys." Mason said while showing me a book. "I got it from a rare book dealer in Germany, it cost me two hundred bucks but it was totally worth it."

"You spent two hundred dollars on a book?" I ask him.

"You're still reading about that stuff?" Liam asked Mason, shocked and probably scared that Mason was going to figure out that Liam's a werewolf.

"I was attacked by an armor plated giant wearing a bear skull. It left an impression." Mason explained as we walked into History class. "Look, look. Have you ever seen something like this?" He showed Liam and I a picture that looked too similar to a berserker.

"Um... Uh, No." Liam nervously stuttered while I quickly shook my head no.

"Have you ever heard of a..." Mason trails off, unable to pronounce the word he was reading.

Liam and I both look at the word and say "Tezcatlipoca." Then I say "Nope. Never heard of it."

We took our seats in History as Mr. Yukimura told us to. Liam was standing next to an empty desk while staring down at the girl in the desk next to it. He let out a small "Oh." Before looking around the classroom for another empty seat, which there were none.

Liam and this girl had so much awkward tension between each other, I'm pretty sure you could cut it with a knife.

"Liam, you're not just going to stand there, are you?" Mr. Yukimura asked the uncomfortable boy.

"Maybe." Liam replied, continuing to look around the room.

"For the whole semester?" Mr. Yukimura questioned with raised eyebrows.

"Maybe." Liam repeated, being stubborn as usual.

"Take a seat Li." I whispered from my chair behind him. He complied and sat down in the chair. Once he was sitting, he began fidgeting and sniffed down to his shorts where he found a chewed wad of gum from mystery girl. He looked over to her, then to Mason and I who were trying to hold back our laughter.

After class, we walked over to Liam's locker. "Mase, you're becoming obsessed with these creatures." I commented. Though he did have a very good reason to be obsessed, it was still kind of creepy.

"Look, I'm not saying I believe all of it one hundred percent. But people around us seem to know things." Mason explained. "Like Lydia, she knows things."

"Dude, it's the first day of school." Liam mentions to Mason. "Shouldn't you be thinking of other things, like the soccer team?" He said as the very attractive boys soccer team walked by us.

"What do you think I'm gonna do, follow them out to the field and watch them practice while I pretend to study?" Mason asks us, which makes me nod.

"It's warm out." I tell him. "Which means they're probably gonna be shirtless." That got Mason's attention.

As he ran off to follow the team he yelled, "See you in physics!" Then ran out the door to the soccer field.

Turning to look at me, Liam says "Well that got him off our plate." While leaning down to kiss me. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him back until I hear a locker door slam.

"Well aren't you two just adorable?" The mystery girl from History class asks sarcastically. Then she notices that Liam changed from his gum-stained pants to gym shorts. "Nice shorts." She says with a smirk.
