The late afternoon sun bathed the garden in a golden glow, casting long, playful shadows across the grass. The scent of blooming flowers filled the air, mingling with the sound of lighthearted laughter as she darted across the yard, trying to escape Jungkook's pursuit.

"Little one, you're not getting away from me!" Jungkook called, his voice laced with mock sternness as he raced after her, his steps quick and determined.

She turned her head, a grin lighting up her face as she picked up her pace. "You'll have to catch me first!" she teased, her laughter spilling out like music, her hair streaming behind her as she weaved through the garden.

Jungkook's smirk widened as he picked up his speed. "Oh, pet, you know you can't outrun me. I'm just letting you think you can."

"You're too slow, Jeon Jungkook!" she taunted, glancing back at him with sparkling eyes. But her momentary distraction gave him the edge he needed.

With a burst of speed, he lunged forward, grabbing her wrist gently but firmly, spinning her around until she was pressed against him, their breaths mingling in the warm air.

"Told you I'd catch you," he murmured, his deep voice laced with triumph as he gazed down at her, his dark eyes shimmering with affection.

She giggled, trying to wiggle free but failing as his arms wrapped securely around her waist. "Not fair! I wasn't even trying my hardest."

"Oh really?" he said with a playful arch of his brow. "Want to try again?"

She shook her head, her smile softening as she met his gaze. "No... I think I like being caught."

His smirk faded into something gentler, his fingers brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face. "Good. Because I don't ever plan on letting you go."

Her teasing demeanor melted as her heart swelled at his words. The sincerity in his voice, the way his eyes held hers with unwavering intensity—it was overwhelming in the best way.

"Jungkook..." she whispered, her voice barely audible, her hands resting against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her palms.

He smiled, leaning in just slightly, his forehead touching hers. "You're everything to me, little one," he said softly. "And I'll chase you to the ends of the earth if that's what it takes to make you happy."

Before she could respond, his lips captured hers in a kiss—gentle yet passionate, filled with every unspoken promise he had ever made. She melted into him, her arms winding around his neck as the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of his embrace and the taste of his kiss.

When they finally broke apart, her cheeks were flushed, her breath uneven as she looked up at him with wide, sparkling eyes. "You caught me," she murmured with a shy smile.

Jungkook chuckled, his hand cupping her cheek as his thumb brushed against her skin. "And I'll keep catching you, every single time."

As they stood there, the sun dipping low on the horizon and the garden bathed in the soft glow of twilight, she realized that she didn't need to run anymore. With him, she was safe. With him, she was home.

And for the first time in what felt like forever, her heart was at peace.
