ADHYANSH

Sharanya starts coughing and tears stream down her eyes drenching her face. She clutch the saree on her chest, her face turning pale. I wonder what she must have heard on the phone that made her so stressed.

Fetching a water bottle, I open the cap and make her drink few sips. She hiccups in mid and my palm skims over her back, in order to soothe her. Embracing her in a side hug i rub a soothing circle on her shoulder and she leans on me.

"What dadi said ?" I ask softly brushing the hairs away from her face.

"Adhyansh som-someone has misused dadu's signature and snatched our home" She starts weeping again and I cradle her face in my palm.

"Why are you getting worried on this ? I am here for you. No one can snatch away your home" My word seems to work on her and she relax in my hold. She looks into my eyes holding so much hope and I smile in assurance.

"Really ?"

"Yes. It's my promise. By the next week you will get your mansion back. What's yours will always remain yours" My thumb strokes her cheek providing her strength and her cries subside.

"Are you sure ?" She questions with a hesitation and I shake my head in approval.

"Do you trust me ?" My question makes her little nervous and she blinks several times. Tension lines form on her head but disappears as soon as it came and her lips tug into a smile.

"More than myself" A warm filling spread through my chest. The warmth of her body pressed against me radiating heat upto my arm and eased my body. Planting a kiss on her forehead I pull closer to myself.

"Thank you" She mumbles in my chest.

"I am with you. Always"

After what felt like an eternity we broke the hug and I asked her to inform her dadi about this that she will get back her home. She immediately called her assured her and dadi was now calmer than before.

"She said trusts you. Now she doesn't have to worry because she knows you will definetly fullfill your promise" Sharanya states with a gracious smile and twinkling eyes.

"That's good. Now let's do my other work first. I told you we are going out for breakfast right"

"I don't feel like eating anymore. I don't think we should go out for breakfast" Sharanya replies in a low voice playing with her fingers and again blinking her eyes several times.

"I don't understand what is the logic behind skipping your meals when you get upset" My rough voice slice through the air and her shoulders become stiff. She let out a small sigh and lowers her eyes lashes.

God !! Her eye lashes are so perfect.

Mentally scolding myself for the distraction. I shift in my place and watch her silently. When she remains quiet I lift her chin and she gives me a dubious stare.
