I know I promised you two more chapters to this love quadrangle. Yet as it happens, I would love to leave it at this impasse. I know the end doesn't make sense. I know you want to know what I had originally planned. Believe me, this is so much better.
Young Love is obviously a story very close to my heart. The works of a writer are the embodiment of his experiences and compounds of his imagination. The works of a good writer are the fictional characterisation of real elements in the form of an untrue story. This story is my journey of self-realisation and the discovery of love.
Let's start with love. A clearly misunderstood word; an underrated/overrated word. All of us often confuse love with happiness when we clearly know and see that it is not. Love is just a drug. It may give you happiness for a while, a day or even your lifetime. That's the uncertainty of life. That's the uncertainty of love.
Coming back to the story: I leave you at this open end. I leave you to think about the fates of all the characters. The thoughts, the circumstances that all four of them are left with. The obvious questions in front of you maybe: Why did Sakshi leave him? Why was Tanisha so cool with the whole suggestions? Why did Niel not fight harder? And why was Vivek even a character in this whole episode? Before proceeding further, I would like you to stop and think.
The beauty of the above questions is no single answer is right. As a human, our thinking capability makes us prone to influence. Various factors and circumstances lead to that single moment which can either be stupendously awesome or stupidly horrible.
As the great bard once said:-
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts...The most significant aspect of this story was not the characters itself but all the characterisations that prove to be the embodiment of the same personality, the human, the YOU.
One may not realise this, but you will reach a point in your life when you find yourself at intersection and you will be forced to choose between a role to play. You can choose to be Neil or Sakshi or Tanisha or Vivek.
Neil is that part of your mind that finds you the special someone. It makes you believe that a single person in the whole wide universe will be responsible for your happiness. You try to win over their hearts with your antiques convincing yourself that at least fate must bring these two humans together if nothing else. You hope, you lose, you start but you never end. A roller coaster of emotions later you realise the truth. The truth can be what you expected all along or the complete opposite. The conclusion is you can evade the emotional roller coaster to reach the destination following the path you started.
Sakshi is the cross road you reach where the devil demands an immediate answer. It plays on your indecision to confuse your already complicated mind. I have very few words describing this character. A role of life that I have not encountered yet. Very little knowledge in this subject comes from the various experiences my close friends have shared with me.
Tanisha is that destination which you always feared. The roller coaster ride equipped with rather difficult twists and turns yet turns out to be shorter than expected turning into a disappointment. This is the character which actually resonates with my life at this moment. All throughout writing this story I embodied my feelings into the thoughts of Tanisha. A character who feels the need to be in an exclusive relation to feel the virtue of love. A character which finally realises the follies of her mind.
Vivek is that character which no one wants to be. Though this story side lines his characteristics, a lot of us are like Vivek at some point or another. Never wanting to be the villain in the story you will always believe that you are playing the part of Neil. Well, that maybe the truth in one story, but you will always be Vivek in some other story. All the infinite possibilities of combinations in this world. The odds are pretty high.
Realise the part you are playing in life, in the story. More importantly, realise the part others are playing in your life. I can't promise it will reduce the pain; and I can't promise it will guarantee happiness. I can only give you understanding. A difference between real and imaginary, love and pain, love and happiness, love and life.
They say don't think while falling in love; I say think after falling in love.
