The warm glow of sunset filtered through the windows as you adjusted the fabric of your kimono for what felt like the hundredth time. The silk was exquisite, embroidered with delicate patterns that shimmered like molten gold in the fading light, but the garment felt heavy—not just on your shoulders but on your very spirit.

"It's time," Uraume announced, their voice steady and unyielding as they stood by the doorway.

You blinked, startled. "Already?"

They nodded, gesturing for you to follow. "The banquet begins at sunset and will last until the middle of the night. This isn't just any feast—it's in honor of the Prime Omega."

You hesitated for a moment, the title still unfamiliar, like a crown that didn't quite fit. It sounded far too grand for someone who had spent their days scrubbing floors and keeping their head down. You swallowed the lump forming in your throat and followed Uraume into the corridor.

The halls were dimly lit, the flickering glow of sconces casting shifting shadows on the stone walls. As you walked, the soft strains of music reached your ears, a haunting melody carried on the air. It was beautiful, yet something about it made your skin prickle.

"There's something you need to remember," Uraume said as the two of you approached the massive double doors at the end of the corridor. "During the banquet, you must be absolutely obedient to the alphas. Any sign of defiance—no matter how small—will be seen as a grave insult."

Your steps faltered, but you quickly caught yourself, hoping Uraume hadn't noticed. "Obedience," you echoed, the word rolling off your tongue like a bad taste.

Uraume glanced at you out of the corner of their eye, their expression unreadable. "It's for your own good," they said, though their tone lacked warmth. "Your life here will be far less... complicated if you simply comply."

My life is already complicated!

The scent of roasted meats and exotic spices reached your nose as you neared the doors, mingling with the low murmur of voices and the clinking of glass. The sound of laughter rippled faintly through the air, sharp and unfamiliar.

Uraume stopped just before the towering double doors, their hand resting lightly on the carved wood. They turned to you, their gaze sharp and appraising.

"Stand tall. Chin up, head high, spine straight," they instructed, their tone as crisp as autumn air. "You are the Prime Omega. You must look confident, as if you belong. Do not let them see fear or hesitation."

You straightened instinctively, trying to smooth the worry from your face.

Fake it till you make it Y/N.
