I woke up at my usual time today, but I know nothing but today is normal.

When I woke up, Dante was gone which made it easier for me to also sneak out without anyone seeing.

I went back to my place and I took a very long shower. After my usual getting ready routine I wore a black leather mini skirt with panty hose and black sneakers. On top I wore a black hoodie.

I didn't waste any time before I went down to my car and started driving back to my hometown.

I felt emptier than usual today. It's like the wound was ripped open and drenched with salt and lemon juice again.

Lana Del Rey was softly playing as I drove. I can hear the messages come through my phone, I haven't checked it since I woke up.

I stopped at a red light and finally checked my phone.

Daddy Xav: Hoe, where are you?

Daddy Xav: You're not funny.

Daddy Xav: OK fine, just stay safe wherever you are. This shit school feels empty without you.

Daddy Xav: Liv just fell.

Fav Armani🩷: Not you and Dante going MIA on us.

Fav Armani🩷: Stay safe and use protection!

Titty pillow🤸: Xavier is lying, HE fell.

Titty pillow🤸: Amy is starting with her shit again, I'll tell you about it when you come back. Idek where you are but yeah.

Anayah♥️: Idk where you are but be safe.

Cupcake🤸💃: Im going out to fix some shit with the company, I'll be back later.

I didn't get to reply before the light turned red again.

Just 1 more hour of driving and then I'll be home again.

Everything was blurred out until the familiar gas station came to view.

I parked my car and got out, locking it in the process, I rushed into store.

The old lady at the register, Mrs Muller immediately recognized me and her eyes filled with tears.

She walked around the counter and hugged me tightly and I could feel my throat close up.

She pulled away, wiping her tears.

"Happy birthday baby." She muttered with a smile, and once again, like last year I couldn't reply.

"How have you been?" I ask, swallowing the lump in my throat.

She told me everything she wanted to tell me before asking me.

"I've been ok, It just feels wrong to be happy and making friends knowing that she couldn't." I admit and she shakes her head at me.

"You know that's what she wanted Vee, Stop beating yourself up about it and it wasn't your fault." She says, walking over to the part of the store that has pastry's.

When she comes back, she's holding what I came for in the first place, a chocolate cake.

It's the one Sage would always buy on our birthday. Mrs Mullers cake was her favorite.

She handed me the cake and I took out $20 from my pocket but she stopped me, just like always.

She stopped charging us for the cake when we were ten but we never told mom, we'd always find a way to give her the money anyways.
