Daenys Velayron had never wanted to leave the safety of Dragonstone, or the blanket of security it provided. When Aegon ii usurps her mother's throne, she has no choice but to play her part in the upcoming war. Rhaenyra chooses to send her eldest da...

first is a drabble I made about Lucerys and Daenys:
'dare I say Luke and Daenys were the closest of the siblings? With them both being softer spoken, gentle people with a deep admiration for their mother. Daenys loving the sea and sailing while Luke doesn't like it and gets greensick easily, but still listens to all she has to say about the world of sailing because she wants to prepare him for being heir to Driftmark. Arrax and Morningstar, both kin white dragons who are similar in age though Morningstar is fiercely protective of the smaller dragon.'
'Luke, who never got to grow taller than his sister though he would have. Daenys, who never got to teach him to properly sail a ship or navigate the seas.'
'Daenys teaching her brother High Valyrion when they both could not sleep at night, her being kept up by dreams and him being kept up by the heavy weight of Driftmark. Luke is very adept in the show, even more so than Jace I believe.'
'Daenys, taking her midnight flights alone now with no Luke or Arrax to fly at her side. Though she loves Jace and her other brothers, she always had a deep connection and bond with her most understanding and empathetic brother. They always had each other, until the day he flew to Storm's end all alone'
Wanted to make a one-shot of them having a scene on Dragonstone's beach where they had a talk about Daenys' visions, but might just include as a flashback.
an ask from anon about how to pronounce Daenys
'I just realized… and idk if you’ve explained this before… but idk how you intended Daenys’ name to be pronounced. I was talking to my friend and I say “Day-niss” and she says “Deh-nees”(like Denise). Idk if you even had a proper pronunciation but I had to ask !'
my reply:
LOL i don't think I explained it actually. Personally, I say Day-niece but any works just fine I leave name pronunciation to interpretation. I feel like if I think too hard on saying a name differently than I first had it kind of pauses me in my reading and ruins immersion. Kind of like Cruh-gain (my version) vs Creh-gun (official), I cannot even try to think of the official one because it rolls off the tongue so awkwardly and doesn't flow in a sentence.
ask from anon about Daenys and Cregan: 'It's nice to think that somehow Cregan and Daenys were destined to meet and love each other. Cregan thought Daenys, was beautiful from the first moment he saw her and always knew he wanted to be her friend, too bad he let himself be guided by insecurity that she would not find him likable. Who knows, if he had acted at the time maybe they would have fallen in love and married much sooner. It's sweet that Daenys may not yet be able to tell Cregan that she loves him like he wants to hear, but that doesn't mean Daenys lets Cregan think she doesn't care about him, she combed his hair herself, showing him that she does care about him. Daenys is a girl of actions and gestures more than words, always has been. It is obvious that Cregan only wants to kiss and adore Daenys, he only wants to marry her and protect her. The most awaited reunion is that of Morningstar with her good and faithful friend, Dusk.'
