Magic Has A Price {Book 2}

Prologue

I watched, helpless, as he was being beaten to a bloody pulp. My mouth could produce no words, my muscles not a movement. I was held captive by magic, the one thing that got me into this entire mess. You shouldn't fool with magic, her voice echoed in my head, it can do horrible things. All magic has a price. I should have listened to her words earlier. If I had, none of this would be happening. Not to him, not to anyone.

Tears ran down my motionless face as I let out a soundless scream, watching in horror as his eyes rolled up into his head. He fell to his knees, than his stomach, his body going limp. I tried with all my strength to move, to run to him, to make sure he was okay, but I wasn't able. All because of my idiocy.

"Well," Wang said, walking around his lifeless body and standing in front of me, "Enjoy the show?" I tried to curse, to spit at him, but nothing happened. Wang laughed. "Wow, I can see the anger and frustration in your eyes, it's very clear. Do you want to hurt me?" I mentally swear, trying once again to lunge at him. Nothing happened.

"Do you want me to release you?" Wang taunted, "Cause I can do that! Do, you want me to?" When I didn't answer he grinned, cupping my jaw with one hand. "Okay, I will." With his free hand he pressed the tip of his pointer finger against my forhead, and suddenly I collapsed to the ground.

I heard Wang laugh as I gasped, suddenly able to move my body. Blinking, I went to push myself from my stomach to my feet when my arms collapsed out from underneath me. My head hit the ground hard, and my vision flickered. "Oh, I forgot one minor detail," Wang laughed, "You're totally weak!" He laughed crazily again, slapping his thigh.

"W-Wang!" I managed to say, my voice shaking with effort, "I-is C-Chanyeol going t-to b-be ok-kay?" He glances over at the motionless form in front of me. "Huh...I'm not sure. You shouldn't worry about him though," Wang looked at me crazily, "It's you who's in danger." "W-what a-are you g-going to d-d...do?" He grins, laughing as my head slumped to the floor, "Oh, don't worry, nothing major. Have a nice nap, Kyunggie!"
