Chapter 19: Who's To Blame?

Trevor's POV:

There's something wrong. I don't know what it is, but I can feel it. "Trevor, sit down please. You're making me dizzy."

"Sorry Mom." I offer a small smile and sit. "What's bothering you?" She looks at me concerned. I sigh, how do you explain something when you're not even sure what it is?

"I don't know, I just feel like something's wrong."

"Just calm down, if there is something wrong I'm pretty sure your friends would call you." She takes a hold of my hand reassuringly.

"Thanks, yeah you're right. If there's nothing wrong why should I worry?" I smile and get up. "I'm going to go to the beach, I'll be right back."

"Okay honey, be safe."

I make my way to my room to grab my skateboard, sunglasses, and phone and then head out.

It's a warm sunny day with a little bit of a breeze. "Perfect." I smile to myself and start skating towards the beach.

Soon enough the beach starts coming to view. I slow down a little and then get off my board. Surprisingly there wasn't many people around.

I make my way toward the ocean and take a seat closer to the shore. The sound of waves crashing is always soothing, the cool sand between my toes, and the warm sun kissing my skin.

I look around, taking in my surroundings. "Amazing, like always." I sigh and lay down.

I got comfortable enough and started falling asleep, but then I got shaken back to reality by my phone. I take out my phone. "Ugh hello?" I say annoyed.

"Yo Trevor, you have got to get your ass to the hospital as soon as possible." It's David. I sit up straight, confused as hell. "Wait, what? What happened?"

"Jessie was in an accident. Everyone's here already, you're the only one left."

"Jessie was in an accident?!" I stand up and hurry out towards the street. "Yes, that's what I said. Please hurry. I gotta go but we're on the third floor." He hangs up.

"Fuck." I make my way quickly towards my house. "Mom, I need to go out real quick. I'll be back as soon as I can." I say as quickly as possible while I look for my keys.

"Trevor, what's wrong? Slow down." She gets up and walks towards me. I look at her, "Jessie is in the hospital."

"Oh sweet heart." She hugs me. "Mom mom, please I don't have time for this I gotta go." I pull out of her grip. "I'm sorry." I tell her as I speed out the door.

I get into my car and speed off towards the hospital. How could this happen? Why now? Why when the last time we spoke we ended on bad terms?

Shay's POV:

This has got to be the best and the worst day of my life. I get to meet my idols but my best friend is in a coma. What the actual hell. And, as it turns out, Jessie and Drew are basically an item. I should have put two and two together. It was all just too coincidental.

"Hey Shay?" Drew looks over at me. "Yes?" "Could I talk to you outside real quick?" He stands up and walks over to me. "Sure." I stand up as well and follow him outside. "We'll be right back." He says to no one specifically.

We make our way to a small garden. There were all sorts of plants and flowers everywhere: daisies, tulips, sunflowers, succulents, and small trees. We sit on a bench next to a small pond. "What's up?" I say after a couple minutes of silence. He sighs and looks up at the sky, "What has Jessie told you about me? Or like, what does she think about me?"
