Chapter 8 - Off To Essex

Olly P.O.V

We were stuck in traffic on the motorway on the way to Essex and Caroline was singing along to songs on the radio. One of the songs that came on was Army Of Two and I laughed as Caroline immediately turned it up and sang her heart out.

"What?!" she exclaimed as she saw me laughing at her.

"You are so cute!" I replied. She immediately blushed but carried on singing anyway, clearly not a care in the world!  The traffic finally started moving again and about half an hour later we were in Essex and not far from my parents house. I was quite nervous about telling my parents, even though they had met Caroline before and have always said we were meant to be! 

We finally pulled up outside my old house. I had told my sister that I was coming over so her car was already parked outside, what I didn't tell her was that Caroline was with me, it was all about the surprise! I looked over at Caz, she looked about as nervous as I felt. I reached over and took her hand before gently kissing her.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Ready." she replied.

After taking a deep breath to calm myself, I got out the car and walked round the other side to open the door for Caroline. I helped her out then locked the car as I took her hand in mine. With that we walked up to the front door and knocked.

Caroline P.O.V

Waiting outside Olly's parent's front door was one of the longest 5 seconds of my life! I was so nervous yet so excited but was glad to have hold of Olly's hand for support. I know that his parents have met me on many occasions and we get along so well and they've wanted us to get together for ages now, but it felt like I was about to meet them for the first time!

Finally the door opened and Vicky-Lynn was stood with a big grin on her face, clearly happy to see her son again! 

"Olly!" she cried as she took him in for a hug, making him let go of my hand. Olly rolled his eyes at me which made me laugh. "And Caroline! It's so good to see you again!" she said to me, taking me in for a hug as well. After letting me go and letting us inside she said to Olly "You didn't tell me you were bringing Caroline, Olly!" 

"I know, we wanted it to be a surprise! We have something to tell you all!" Olly replied excitedly, following his Mum into the lounge where everybody else was sat. After saying hello to everyone, Olly and I sat together on one of the sofas.

"So... what did you want to tell us?" questioned Olly's mum.

"Well... there's only one way to say this really... but, Caroline and I are together." As Olly finished, his family were looking at us in amazement.

"Your having us on!" cried Jody, obviously not believing us and breaking the awkward silence.

"We're not! We promise!" I insisted and just to make sure the believed us, I snuggled into Olly's shoulder as he kissed my forehead.

"Yaaaaaay!!" everyone chorused, they were clearly pleased! They all kept asking us questions after that and we all talked well into the night. It wasn't until I quickly checked my phone after hearing a text come through when I realised the time.

"Wow! It's nearly midnight!" I said to everyone.

"Really?! Time's gone by fast! We best be off then!" said Faye, standing up to get her bag.

"Yes, we should be off too, thanks for having us over Mum!" Olly said as he got up from the sofa pulling me with him.

"No Olly, you and Caroline should stay here! It's a long journey back and it's late, we still have your old room free." We didn't even get a chance to argue before Olly's mum went off upstairs to find some clean sheets for the bed! We said our goodbyes to Faye and the others before heading upstairs. Olly opened the door to his room and suddenly there seemed as if hundreds of eyes were watching us. I stopped and looked around. Plastered on the walls were many posters of Manchester United. I looked over at Olly, he was blushing... a lot!

"I forgot about these..." Olly said, staring at the ground.

"You are so cute Ols!" I replied to him. 

"Slightly embarrassing though!" he said to me, getting redder.

"No! It's sweet! Like you." I said turning to face him and placing a quick kiss on his lips. "What am I supposed to sleep in tonight?" I asked him, suddenly remembering I didn't have anything for overnight. 

"Ummm, here, you can wear this" he said after searching through some of the clothes that he still had stashed away in his wardrobe. He passed me an old shirt, it still smelt lke him.

"Bathroom?" I asked, picking up my make up bag which had some emergency make up remover in.

"Out the door and to the right." Olly replied before turning back to the wardrobe in search of something to wear.

Olly P.O.V

Caroline slipped out the door to use the bathroom and as she did I started to try and tidy up the room a bit. I was still embarrassed about the posters but I couldn't do anything about them now! After making the room a bit neater, I pulled off my clothes and dived under the covers. I couldn't be bothered to hunt through all my old stuff just to find a t-shirt to wear!

I heard Caroline coming back from the bathroom so I pretended to be asleep, but I think she knew I was faking.

"Ols, I know you're not asleep!" she said as I felt her sit down on the bed.

"How did you know?!" I asked opening one eye slightly. Even without make up she looked beautiful.

"You wouldn't go to sleep without saying goodnight! Your too polite!" 

"True... and charming!" I said with a wink, as I pulled her down to lie next to me. "What's the time Caz?" I asked her.

"Ummm, 12:34 on the dot" she replied after looking at her phone. "Why?"

"Just wondering, doesn't seem that late!"

"Suppose it doesn't, we talked for ages downstairs!"

"Would have rather it had been us two though..." I said cheekily, pulling Caroline in for a kiss. It lasted a while and slowly became more passionate.

"Ols not now! Not at your parents house!" Caroline said, breaking the kiss.

"I don't care, they won't hear us!" I replied kissing her softly.

"It feels weird! And they could hear us! You know how loud you can become!" she said to me cheekily but speaking the truth.

"Fine then, but you won't hear the last of this Flackers!" I said winking and snuggling into her.

"I'll hold you to that Murs!" she replied as she curled into me. It didn't take too long for us both to fall asleep  and I felt so relaxed to finally be with Caroline.
