Murder Drones: The survivor

Chapter 17: Help on the way

(A/N: I took a break, as you could guess. Anyway! Here's the new chapter. I thought it would be a bit longer but it's better to split it)

- "Okay squad, today we are going to split. I need some time alone after a week with you." - J said somewhat looking indifferent. A hint of annoyance was still there but it wasn't as hostile as it was a week ago. And without saying another word, she took off to hunt on her own.

N and V looked at themselves, shock written on their faces slowly replaced by smiles. Finally, after a week of waiting they could visit Uzi and apologise!

N was super happy and wagging his tail like crazy, sure V had become somewhat nicer, they talked normally, even J got better, still mean but not as overly abusive as she was before, but something about talking with that worker was interesting and fun to him.

V didn't want to show her excitement but the quivering of her tail was a dead giveaway. Yes, she really was happy to see that emo toaster. Without a second thought she nodded to N and he very eagerly extended his wings with her doing the same.

The pair of Disassemblers took off to the distance to get into Uzi's bunker as fast as possible.

After a rather short amount of time they were already at the bunker's entrance, knocking early, waiting for their purple-haired friend to open the doors for them. The Disassembly drone duo heard some shuffling on the other side and soon enough the doors opened and N began to speak happily without looking.

- "Hello Uzi! It's great to see you again! Sorry fo-... Uzi?" - N only now noticed that the lavender eyed drone was nowhere to be found, and in her place was a very distraught and sad sentinel.

- "Uhh... H-hello big guy, do you know where Uzi is?" - Asked N slowly with a slight stutter, along with V eying the robo dino with suspicion, however that hostility  disappeared quickly when it began wailing like it was hurt.

The female Disassembly warily came closer to the sentinel and slowly touched it's snout, and when she saw that it didn't want to bite off her arm, she began to slowly stroke its head.

- "Shhh... It's alright... Just... What happened? Do you know where she went? How long was she gone?" - Asked V gently. From the look of it, Uzi wasn't here for at least a few days. There was a thin layer of dust on the desk, and V was sure as hell that when Uzi wasn't sleeping, she was working.

N was amazed at that soft side of V. He never thought that he would ever see this side of her again. Maybe she is still the same and just afraid to show it? That, or either his fantasies of previous work as worker drones in the manor got the better of him.

The sentinel slowly and with melancholy trotted to the exit and looked at them expecting the duo to follow. They very eagerly did. That seemed to raise the spirits of the dino.

After seeing that he was followed, Edgelord began to run as fast as he could towards the destination his owner had said she would be in, two murder drones above him, flying with nerves wracking them up. The behaviour of the sentinel was really worrisome.

After flying for a bit, V realised that they were heading towards the Cabin fever labs... That couldn't be a good sign. It meant that Uzi was probably dead or very injured, beyond repairs. She really wished that either of those were wasn't the case.

The eerie entrance was before them. It looked like a big hole in the ground. Slowly the Disassembly duo began to land with Edgy parkouring his way down. The dino hated that place, but this time he was ready to face his other fellow sentinels.

Because of how he was reprogrammed, Edgelord could sense where exactly Uzi was, and he could sense that she was in some deep trouble. It worked as if he had thermal vision but instead of warm objects, he saw the shape of his owner in purple and with every passing minute, the shape got more and more disoriented and coulor became more grayish.

- "Wh-what is this place? Wh-why are there so many body parts?" - N asked with an edge in his voice. He was very frightened but tried (and failed) to mask it.

- "Cabin fever labs... That's this place's name." - V answered with a tone that said 'don't pry into that' and he decided not to ask. The last thing he wanted was maddening V in a situation like this.

Suddenly one of the doors before them opened and at least four sentinels came out of them and began to charge towards the two disassemblers and Uzi's dino.

Before N could react, V and Edgy ran towards the hostile sentinels, with V covering her eyes and firing blindly in front of her and Edgelord attacking fiercely and with a great sense of revenge for what they did to him before Uzi found him. He was known as the weakest of their pack before, a runt, but with the upgrades his owner gave him and two Disassembly drones (Because N came to his senses) they were able to defeat other sentinels who laid lifelessly on the ground.

They charged forward, determination written on their faces as they entered a long corridor.
Suddenly the team heard some shuffling and a weird looking Untrained Neural Network. It had spider legs and one of its arms was changed into a device the two drones knew very well. N immediately decided to shoot at the baby, although other than the weapon itself, he failed to do much harm to the UNN.

After that, the little fella decided to run, but was stopped. Edgelord picked him up with the big maw of his without hurting the Untrained Neural Network and nodded towards the two disassemblers to continue going forward.

More sentinels came forward and it was very hard to navigate. It was like an anthill there, except instead of ants there were thirsty robot dinosaurs. At least ten at a time. Then N got an idea. It was risky but maybe it'll work?

- "V! Me and Uzi's sentinel will try to distract them! You should go and search for her!" - he shouted while firing bullets, covering his eyes as best as he could.

- "I can't leave you all alone! What if you die!? Besides I don't even know where to go!" - V said, fear gripping her processor. No, she couldn't lose him.

- "I'll be fine! Our sentinel is a really tough cookie! We will win!" - N said confidently. The sentinel sensing what's happening guided V to just go forward, still having a pill baby in his mouth.

- "If you get yourself killed I swear to Robo-god I'll kill you." - V said but this wasn't really a threat. N saluted her with a goofy grin and resumed the fight along Uzi's sentinel, granting the female disassembler free path to the lavender eyed drone whom she really grew to like.
