Y/N's ears rung as she watched her lover's body be carried off by paramedics, a bystander had called an ambulance. A blanket was draped over his beautiful face as he had been pronounced dead on scene. Y/N could hear policemen asking her if she knew who killed him and what she witnessed. She heard none of it, the only sensation recognized was the tears falling against her cheeks. Eventually, the police sat her down near one of their cars and went to question bystanders.

When she finally gained her senses back, the police told her that nobody else saw what had happened. They said that as soon as the men grabbing Y/N had been shot, a black fog surrounded the area where they stood. Only Y/N knew who killed Jake from State Farm. It didn't make sense, Y/N saw no black fog and Jake hadn't said anything about it either. Someone else had interfered, but who? That didn't matter right now, all Y/N wanted to do was track Keanu Reeves down and slaughter him.

one hour later

Once she got away from the questionings of the police, Y/N ran to the State Farm Office. She had been informed that Jake didn't have his phone on him when he was murdered. It was closed, forcing Y/N to break one of the windows to Jake's office. After climbing in she surveyed her surroundings and her eyes fell on an unlocked red phone, the password had been taken off. She swiped up on the phone and saw it had been left on a message between Jake and Keanu. It read:

"I left some notes at Y/N's house. I'll take her away and there will be nothing you can do about it. I know you love her more than me, I don't care. I'm going to make both of you pay for what you've done. Tonight is the night you die. After you it will be Y/N, and then finally my revenge will be complete."

The notes had been bait that Y/N naively fell for, caught up in her love for Jake.

Why hadn't she tried to talk with Jake? If she had just listened to him at the office, or texted him, or something, maybe, just maybe he wouldn't be dead. She quickly shook those thoughts from her head. No, this wasn't her fault, it was Keanu's. He was the reason Jake was dead. He was the reason Jake cheated. He was the reason for everything. Y/N was going to kill him and whoever else tried to stop her.
