My husband, Jack, arrived home from work right as I uploaded our first video on our new channel - Bratayley Grown Up.
"Is that the video?" Jack asked with a grin. He kissed me on the cheek.
"Sure is!" I smiled. "How was work?" I asked, worriedly. Jack had been having a hard time at work lately and it was really putting a damper on his mood. I had my job as a nail technician, but it wasn't paying enough to support our family. We really depended on Jack's job as an accountant.
"It was good. I didn't get fired or laid off," Jack laughed. "But, seriously. I think things are taking a turn for the better." I smiled. That was a relief. "So, where's Ethan?"
"He's upstairs taking a nap. And while he's asleep, we need to talk about our plans for Christmas. It's in only a month! Annie emailed and said she's hosting Christmas at her house this year. Would you want to fly out there? Caleb responded and said him, Caroline, and the kids are planning on attending and so are my parents," I finished. I hoped Jack would say yes. I hadn't seen either of my siblings since Easter, and I really missed them.
Caleb married his wife Caroline when they were both 23, and they had three children - Alexa, Liam, and Maddie. They live in Annapolis near where we grew up.
Annie married her husband Hunter when they were 25, and had their two daughters Stephanie and Taylor. They live in New York City, not too far from where Caleb and my parents live.
I married Jack when I was 24, and we had our son Ethan not too long afterwards. However, we live in Chicago for Jack's work. Don't get me wrong, I love Chicago! But, I really miss my family.
"I'd love to go! I know you really miss your family since they're all in the New England area and we're in Chicago, and I miss them too. They're a great bunch of people," Jack smiled up at me. I grinned. I couldn't wait!
Half an hour later, the video finished uploading. "It's up!" I yelled. Jack ran into the room and his face lit up. He had never had a YouTube channel of his own, but he had always wanted one. When I told him about how I wanted to start a family vlogging channel, he jumped onboard. He was very supporting of my plans for our channel.
Hey guys! I have a little surprise for you.... www.youtube.com/bratayleygrownup - Hayley
I tweeted out on Twitter about the grand opening of our YouTube channel. I sighed with happiness, this was perfect! "Jack, come look at what I tweeted," I called out.
"That's nice! I'm sure your followers will be very excited about your little surprise," he said with a smile.
"I'm glad you like the idea of a surprise... because I have one for you," I said with a smirk. I couldn't wait to tell him my secret.
"Hmm? What is it?" Jack's eyes met mine.
"I'm pregnant!"
