This morning, our whole family gathered over Annie's hospital bed and prayed. We prayed for her safety, for the doctors to have the knowledge to perform the surgery, and we prayed that she would be brave and make it through the surgery.
Eventually, we were told we had to leave. I personally didn't want to sit in the hospital waiting room the whole day, so I decided to take Stephanie, Taylor, and Ethan out.
"Where are we going Aunt Hayley?" Stephanie asked me.
"It's a surprise!" I said with a wink.
We finally made it to the parking garage, and we found our car. All four of us piled in, and I started driving through the busy streets of New York.
"Are you all excited for Christmas?" I asked, trying to lighten up the mood in the car. I wouldn't admit it to them, but I was worried out of my mind for their mom.
"Yeah!" Taylor yelled.
"Yay! Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays," I stated.
We ended up going to the American Girl store in New York. That was my present to them. I had wanted Annie to come with but unfortunately that wasn't possible at the time being.
While we were looking at doll outfits, I got a call from Hunter.
"Hello?" I said anxiously.
"It's me, Hunter. The surgery went well... Annie will be home for Christmas!"
I hope you enjoyed this short yet sweet chapter! I'm soooo sorry for not posting on Tuesday... I was so busy the past two days and just didn't have time to update!
I'm so excited that we have over 400 reads! That is mind blowing! I never thought we'd get so far!
