A Quiet Day at Home

Billie Eilish sat cross-legged on the couch in her Los Angeles home, clutching a soft plush bunny close to her chest. She felt small today. Age regression wasn’t a new experience for her—it was a way her mind and body coped with stress and exhaustion. Being in the public eye was overwhelming, and sometimes, she needed to retreat into a childlike mindset to feel safe.

Finneas, her older brother and closest confidant, walked into the living room holding a cup of tea. “Hey, B,” he said softly, setting the cup on the table in front of her. “How’re you doing?”

She looked up at him, her eyes wide and vulnerable. “I feel little,” she murmured, barely above a whisper.

He nodded, recognizing the signs immediately. “Okay,” he said gently. “Do you need me to get anything for you?”

Billie hesitated, shifting uncomfortably. She was wearing a pair of oversized sweatpants and a hoodie, but when she regressed, her body sometimes struggled with controlling certain functions. “I... um, maybe diapers,” she admitted, her cheeks flushing.

Finneas crouched down to her level, his expression calm and reassuring. “That’s okay,” he said. “Do you want to change into one now, or later?”

She thought for a moment, then nodded. “Now, please.”

Finneas went to grab one of the pull-up style diapers they kept for days like this, along with wipes and powder. He always handled it with care, making sure she felt no judgment or shame. Once she was changed, Billie curled up on the couch with her bunny and a blanket, feeling a sense of security return.

The Mall Trip

The next morning, Billie woke up still feeling regressed. Finneas suggested a trip to the mall to pick up some cozy clothes and maybe a toy or two—anything to make her feel comforted. She agreed, holding his hand tightly as they headed out.

At the mall, Billie’s demeanor was noticeably childlike. She giggled at colorful displays in store windows, tugged Finneas toward a toy store, and pointed out things she wanted. Finneas played along, letting her pick out a stuffed panda and a coloring book.

“Do you want to grab lunch?” Finneas asked as they exited the toy store.

Billie nodded enthusiastically. “Chicken nuggets?” she asked, her voice soft and hopeful.

“Of course,” he said with a smile.

They were heading toward the food court when a sudden flash of cameras startled Billie. Paparazzi had spotted them.

“Billie! Over here!” one of them called, their cameras clicking furiously.

Her grip on Finneas’s hand tightened as her breathing grew shallow. “Fin... they’re too loud,” she whimpered, her eyes darting around.

“Hey, it’s okay,” he said, pulling her into a protective hug. “Let’s get out of here.”

But the attention was too much. Billie’s tics started—a sharp head jerk, followed by rapid blinking and a vocal tic that sounded like a soft “hmm.” The tics came faster and more violently as her anxiety spiraled.

“Finneas, make it stop!” she cried, tears streaming down her face.

Finneas shielded her from the cameras as best as he could, speaking calmly. “Breathe, B. We’re going to a quiet place now.”

He guided her into a nearby store and asked an employee if they could use the back room. Thankfully, they were understanding and let them through.

Calming Down

In the quiet room, Finneas crouched in front of Billie, holding her hands. “You’re safe now,” he said gently. “Deep breaths, okay?”

Her tics were still coming, but they began to slow as she focused on Finneas’s soothing voice. He pulled the stuffed panda out of the bag and handed it to her. “Here, hug this.”

Billie clutched the panda tightly, her breathing evening out. “I don’t like the cameras,” she said, her voice trembling.

“I know, B,” Finneas said, stroking her hair. “But you don’t have to face them right now. I’ve got you.”

They stayed in the back room for a while, Finneas humming softly to her. When she was ready, they slipped out through a side exit, avoiding the crowd.

Back Home

Once they were home, Billie changed into her comfiest pajamas and settled on the couch with her panda. Finneas brought her a cup of hot chocolate and sat beside her.

“Thanks for taking care of me,” she said softly.

“Always,” he replied, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “You’re my little sister. No matter what, I’ll be here.”

Billie leaned against him, feeling safe and loved. Though the day had been overwhelming, she knew she could always count on Finneas to help her through.
