I hummed a quiet tune, my fingers tapping lightly against the steering wheel. The faint glow of the museum loomed ahead, its towering presence framing the night sky. I leaned back in my seat, watching the entrance as if waiting for the perfect moment. Sure, we'd agreed to scatter after the last disastrous attempt at getting revenge on Ian Blackpool—splitting up to keep off the radar. But I knew better. None of us could just walk away, it's not in our nature. Especially not when the stakes were this high.
My phone buzzed, pulling me out of my thoughts. I grinned when I saw the name flash across the screen. I rolled down the window and unlocked the passenger door before leaning back with a satisfied smirk. "Hey."
The door opened, and Nate slid into the seat next to me, his usual cool demeanor hiding whatever thoughts were churning behind his eyes. He didn't waste time.
"Are they out?" he asked, his voice clipped with that familiar edge of impatience.
I glanced up at the museum entrance and smirked. "Bout to be. I see them now."
From the corner of my eye, I spotted Sophie, Hardison, Parker, and Eliot. They were sprinting across the open courtyard, the unmistakable sound of approaching security guards hot on their heels. Sophie's heels were clutched in her hand, her graceful run a blur as she dodged past the gates.
I shifted the car into gear with a smooth hum and pulled up, stopping just in front of the gate. "Need a ride?" I called out to Sophie.
Sophie, panting from her mad dash, practically leapt into the car, followed quickly by Parker, Eliot, and Hardison, all squeezing into the back seat, breathless.
"Nice of you all to join me," I quipped, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. "How's the museum tour?"
"Go! Go! Go!" Hardison yelled from the back, his voice more than a little frantic.
With a grin on my face, I floored the accelerator, the tires screeching as we shot forward. The sound of footsteps and shouts faded behind us, replaced by the rush of the engine.

Mansion Gardens
The team made its way up a long staircase, leading to the grand entrance of a massive estate. The scent of fresh greenery and the distant sound of a fountain filled the air. I glanced around, taking in the manicured gardens, the sweeping lawns, and the imposing mansion.
It was... a bit much, honestly. But I couldn't deny that it was impressive.
Nate was the first to speak up. "Hardison, what is this?"
Hardison, looking smug as ever, gave a casual shrug. "Yeah, well, since Sterling blew our covers, I had to find a new safe house. Lay low."
Sophie raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "This is your idea of laying low?"
Hardison looked at her with a grin. "It's a safe house, not a cardboard box in an alley, Sophie."
Mansion Foyer
The door creaked open as the team stepped inside, and the first thing that hit me was...Empty. The high ceilings, the marble floors, the giant chandelier in the entryway—it all screamed luxury, But the place had a hollow quality to it with it lacking any furniture.
Sophie was the first to speak as she took in the massive space. "Yeah."
Hardison bounced around, proud of his latest find. "Hey, don't break anything."
Eliot crossed his arms, surveying the space. "There's nothing to break."
Parker's sharp eyes darted around, looking for anything that could be of interest, or, more likely, something she could steal. Her voice echoed through the otherwise silent mansion. "Who ripped out the toilets?"
