The lunch that Wei Wuxian prepared was a simple one that consisted of kimbap, rolled omelette, pork katsu sandwich, and fruits – which the kids attacked immediately.

He even brought a cooler with bottles of sweetened iced tea for everyone, and after he served everyone, he opened up the tea and drank it since the weather was quite hot.

Lan Wangji couldn’t help but notice how Wei Wuxian’s Adam’s apple moved every time he swallowed and he inexplicably felt hot all over his body.

He was wearing a white shirt with beige pants, and somehow he felt tight all over although the clothes were all made to his exact measurement.

Lan Wangji tried to divert his attention to the food – which looked scrumptious – and took a piece of grape because he suddenly lost his appetite – and popped it into his mouth while watching Xiao Yuan ate the pork katsu sandwich while Jingyi was eating both the kimbap and the sandwich in turns from each of his hands and it made Xiao Yuan giggle.

Wei Wuxian watched as Lan Wangji ate and swallowed the grape, and how he watched the boys with amusement in his eyes. The man looked so otherworldly that Wei Wuxian could not take his eyes off him.

He had never been in a relationship before – not even casual flings – since he was so busy looking after Jingyi after his mother dumped him onto his lap and disappeared to god-knows-where. He wasn’t even interested although he met many beautiful women – and men – throughout his career as a celebrity chef.

But now…

He didn’t even know that Xiao Yuan’s uncle was the rich and famous Lan Wangji – his bias ever since the man took the world by the storm with his first recording – and he didn’t even realize that the man was very handsome and caring toward his nephew while looking so sexy and delectable and kissable.

Wei Wuxian immediately slapped himself mentally for having a dirty thought toward the unsuspecting man – who could literally point his finger to anyone and they would gladly provide any service he wanted.

Maybe he would stand a chance if he was the famous celebrity chef he was – not the home-cooking teacher for the parents in the suburbs like he was now, so he concentrated on feeding and wiping Jingyi’s mouth and hands from all the crumbs and buried all his impure thoughts about Lan Wangji deep down inside.

“Jingyi, you should eat slowly.” Wei Wuxian took out another piece of wet tissue and wiped Jingyi’s face. “No one’s going to take your food away from you.” He couldn’t help but chuckle when he saw how Jingyi frowned, as he didn’t like to be treated as a baby.

“I want to ride the rollercoaster!” Jingyi exclaimed loudly after he swallowed the last piece of the kimbap and tried to stand up – dragging Xiao Yuan with him.

Wei Wuxian sighed.

They had this discussion yesterday about the minimum height requirement to ride the rollercoaster, but Jingyi was being Jingyi and he was as stubborn as a mule when it came to what he wanted – especially since he wanted to cheer up Xiao Yuan after he found out that his father had passed away and left him alone, just like himself.

Fortunately, Xiao Yuan was a very mature child as he told Jingyi that they would not be able to ride the roller coaster because their heights were not up to the requirement, and suggested they went to the haunted house instead.

“Haunted house! Yay!”

Jingyi was quickly excited over the idea of the haunted house and both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian chuckled as they put the empty boxes from their lunch away.

“Xiao Yuan is a good influence for Jingyi, he’s a very mature child and he reigns Jingyi from his usual antics.” Wei Wuxian spoke to Lan Wangji with a smile on his face.

“Well, Jingyi is also a good influence for Xiao Yuan since he can be very timid at times and Jingyi helped by pulling him out of his shell – especially since my brother was gone.” Lan Wangji also smiled – albeit with a hint of sadness in his eyes that made Wei Wuxian want to hug him tight and comfort him.

“I know it’s a cliche, but I believe that time will heal everything.” He patted his pants from the fallen leaves and gave Lan Wangji his brightest smile. “Believe me when I say that there will be a rainbow after the storm. Who knows what kind of happiness each of you would bring to each other, as long as you open your heart to the magic.”
